Isn't Brawl set to appear within the next couple of months? Before the New Year, I thought. That gives a good four-month window before BotCon.

And don't forget that TFSS 4.0 Bludgeon uses the Onslaught mold. Past precedent is that TFSS toys and BotCon toys are produced at the same time, and although Onslaught IS a reuse of a mold that's already been released, the fact that the Onslaught-specific parts haven't been used before is probably relevant.

 

The Combaticons are apparently slated for 2016, but we've seen in-package images so I'm banking on late 2015. I think there used to be a wider gap between a mold's retail release and when Fun Pub gets to use it, but I can only assume that as FP gets more sway with Hasbro they get to use newer molds sooner.

 

I assume as well that Fun Pub using recent molds is going to help the QC, on account of the factories not digging up old molds from storage but instead using ones from recent memory.

 

Sure, okay. I guess it also shows what the tooling for that nosecone we're never getting looks like.

Well, he has the cartoon colors (alongside the other two, I presume), and has some neat retooling for a Nosecone!

Now, people can also stop whining about there being no Technobots besides Scattorshot.

 

Ha, yeah, looks like someone got a hold of the Nosecone mold early.

Still pretty cool that they're getting to use molds that will be on the shelf at the time of the show. Heck, the way distribution has been, and given the earliness of Botcon this year, I bet there will still be a lot of people looking for Bruticus limbs around April. We might end up getting the Botcon repaint of this mold before we get the original! Crazy!

 

Love the lightning bolts symbolic of his beetle legs. But this raises a ton o questions.

1) Is he red because Tripredacus was red on TV? Or is he red because Ramhorn's toy was reddish?
2) Does this mean Deluxe Groove is on the table? That could open up Onyx Primal as an Aerialbot and Flamewar as Groove for additional limbs/souvenirs.
3) Are people going to be happy to see Nosecone or pissed because it's debuting as Ramhorn?
4) Where do I send my money?

 

I checked the wiki to see who was who. The guy on the left is Sea Clamp and the one on the right is Cicadacon. I'm expecting Cicadacon to use Cyclonus. Normally that would be weird, since Cicadacon was the smallest toy. Since they're going with the show versions, it makes slightly more sense. Cicadacon was a bigger guy there.

 

Looks really good to me. Adding the Nosecone parts really helps him stand out, too, and makes him that much more beetle like; a fantastic touch.

Curious if the other two will use a similar colorscheme; with Tarantulas and Ravage added to the mix that could clash more than using the toy colors would.

For that matter, what other Technobots might have potential pretools, I wonder?

 

Well it looks like Ramhorn wanted to be like Onsluaght which is get remolded and make the back of the tank be the front of the drill tank

 

WTF is that?! That doesn't look anything like the artwork. I really dug the mix of cartoon red and toy indigo that it had going. Why is the drill coming out the back? Heck, they couldn't even be bothered to color in one of the side windows! And lightning bolts? Why?

 

So I'm going to assume Predacus is the council as arms/torso and the theme is they (in theory) stand on any two bots who they need to form the legs.

I do like this! I guess it's obvious who the other three will be now - can't wait to see them!
Although I'm getting more of a 'Drillbit' vibe from this thinking about it.

 

Much more excited for the potential of Nosecone.

 

....I actually quite like that.

Makes me hope for the Cyclonus torso as then the TRIpredacus council would have a de facto hover mode that BM Megatron may have been inspired by.

 

For me it's the possibility of Drillhorn and the rest of Liokaiser!
