...that's a good point. None of the Ark bots can be Council members.
There's a rude word for stuff like that. TM2 Prowl's toy bio is a lot better:
Prowl (1999) - Maximal Military Strategist - www.tfu.info
Compare to G1 Prowl's toy bio:
Prowl (1984) - Autobot Military Strategist - www.tfu.info
And, for completeness, Magnaboss (the individual toys have no bio)
Magnaboss (1997) - Maximal Combat Leader - www.tfu.info
No doubt in my mind: TM2 is G1 Prowl, Magnaboss Prowl isn't.
By all means add things in for blank slate characters but not when it contradicts already established information.
Ah OK I see now! Depends on how Tarantulas would destroy the Ark I guess. In the comic the explosion they detonate would not affect anyone of first generation origins so anyone from the Council on board would not necessarily be harmed.
But the only claims that these guys are DEFINITELY Soundwave, Shockwave and Ramhorn are on the forums not on the bios. To me it proves the point that it's a mystery and meant to stay that way.
I can totally see where you're coming from. The toy bios say lots of stuff that never gets picked up on in the fiction though and the IDW books went the G1 Magnaboss route a decade ago. This definitely does not sit with the continuity on the toybox.
ah, I was completely inaccurate because I only presented one point of view, though possibly accurate, for bw ramhorn.
By presenting it as the only point of view yes. Perhaps half-truth would be more accurate?
You said "I doubt it will go over well but bw ramhorn is cassette ramhorn." By saying the beginning you imply that it is the whole story. If you'd said "One of the bio's suggested origins is that it's G1 Ramhorn which would not go over well if true" would be a different statement. But by not even mentioning there were 4 or so versions of the story all conflicting you've massively misrepresented what's there. In the comic Ramhorn has fiery eyes the whole time and even makes mention of the Pit which definitely hints towards which of the origins may be the true one.
The toy bios are just one small piece of the fiction. Hell, even in G1 the toy bios didn't always perfectly mesh with the other fiction. Soundwave, for example. The toy bios seem to give the impression that Rodimus Prime and Galvatron are separate characters from Hot Rod and Megatron.
It's IDW that cleared up a lot of the vague stuff like the Magnaboss guys. If you don't like,it, ignore it. But you can't deny that it's there.
So, Transmetal Megs is going to be 89 bucks, Deluxes will be 49, and the reflector 3 pack like 79 (I think)
Not bad for Megs
When I was a kid playing with Transformers TM2 Megatron was the evolved version of Megatron's son...who was played by the McDonalds Transmetal Dinobot toy.
His girlfriend was the McDonald's TM Blackarachnia...who eventually became BM Blackarachnia...but was called Spindra.
Because they're toys.
YEs, they are toys... And I'm excited for the new toy of a character that I love... BW Megatron
eh that's what it is at the con...once people start selling them it'll be more....a lot more.
especially that megatron...
If some idiot wants to pay $250 for TM3 Megatron, let them. The market will adjust quickly once there are more out there.
The prices for the exclusives... note at the show items that says "Megatron's Rubber Ducky"
yes we know...wait wait wait and the price "may" adjust...until they don't
i'm sure botcon sets are all so reasonable years later...
there's a botcon set of 06 buzzsaw and laserbeak for $400...
with certain toys the prices don't adjust. megatron is a hot ticket figure. so far i've seen one person say they didn't want one and there's only like 800 of them. he's not likely to be cheap. maybe ever...
$200 is most likely the least he'll go for....scorpinok is going for $175 still before shipping. megs will be the same for awhile.
The prices for figures is base on both supply and demand, and like you said they didn't make many of those, and they were more popular than they expected, so they prices are high. I'm sure Fun Pub wishes it made more at the time. I'm surprised there are not any real attempts to make KO Botcon figures. At even a third the price of ebay today, someone cold make a killing with a KO Botcon set of the pre-Beast Wars figures. Why has someone not made a KO of Botcon Laserbeak and Buzzsaw? They are common Energon molds.
Honestly I wouldn't mind if some fiction was to say that some of the protoforms on the Axalon were G1 Autobots, but do something less obvious than Inferno was Inferno. Tell is that Bumblebee became Buzzsaw, or that Ultra Magnus became Polar Claw. Something that's actually unexpected.
I would get Megatron and Airrazor.
Wow...so did not see that coming.
Not sure how to feel about that.
Considering FunPub's usual QC, I'd say not that good.
wait wasn't ultra magnus turned into ultra mammoth for beast wars? i thought that was in his bio for the subscription figure
Don't the same people make Fun Pub's figures as Hasbro and Takara?
Ultra Mammoth was Classicverse Ultra Magnus... the Classicverse was destroyed and Classicverse Magnus is now living in the Shattered Glass universe. Doesn't mean the Magnus from IDW can't be someone else.
The "Beast Wars' Ultra Mammoth participated are not the same Beast Wars of the TV series. It was a bunch of G1 Autobots and Decepticons stranded on prehistoric SG Earth before the SG Axalon and SG Darkside crashed the Autobots took on animal forms to survive, while the Decepticon wore energon armor.
