Ok, since I couldn't get rooms online, I called them. Got my rooms just fine.

So give them a call at 1-800-474-3272 and you shouldn't have any issues getting rooms. I'm ready to rock this botcon :D :D

Holy crap a Botcon close enough to me i can actually seriously consider trying a to find a way to go! What a concept!

Now if i can just make the financial end of things allow for it.

    Shots fired.

Feels like a weird place to have a Botcon. It's like 40 miles west of Chicago, so you lose the convenience of having O'Hare airport nearby. My family stayed at this exact resort last year for a family reunion, and I don't recall there being a ton to do in the area compared to having it right in the city.

Yup...so unless you drive there, you're gonna have to rent a car to really do anything outside of the actual convention. I selfishly like it in Pasadena because it's convenient for me, but i also see it as a logistically better location due to it being a good place to go on a full on vacation, with plenty of things to do. I'm happy that it's in another location for people that can get there easily, but i do agree, it feels like a weird place to put Botcon, or any convention really.

Hopefully I can go to this - it would be my first Transformers convention since BotCon '08 in Cincinatti.

It is a reasonable distance from NYC. We will see a better dealer room from alot of the Canadian and east coast based guys. If I'm not dead from ebola I'll be there.

Within walking distance, no. With driving distance (15 minutes or less), tons to do. Some of the best food in the entire Chicagoland area is in downtown St. Charles and Geneva, along with some river walks, bike rentals, boat rentals, etc down the Fox River. 2nd largest shopping area in IL is down Randall Rd. Granted, it's all a little different than what previous BotCon goers have seen...considering previous locations. This area is less of a typical tourist area and a little more quaint.

LOL those said never Botcon at Chicago ever because of the cost/union. I have plenty of AA miles, I might just go.

Well, as I'm understanding it, those particular issues are dealt with by not being in Chicago proper....

Damn, that's close enough that if my situation was different, I'd jump at that. Certainly would have (and did) a few years back.

I'm sure I'm simply being obtuse in saying this, but it appears that this is a really intense move to push out TFCon... or at the very least give them a run for their money. The cons are month apart sure, but most will probably see both cons being so close geographically as overload.

I kind of want to know a little bit more about the theme. I don't need exact toys, but I'd like to know that we're not getting, like, Transformers Prime vs Animated crossover.

Yay! So Chicago gets a TFCon and a Botcon within like 8 months? Seems fair... How about a Botcon in like, March in the 6th highest populated city in the country... where it has never been? I know Botcon has been west lately, but sheesh....
