Looks better and worse than retail all at the same time.

That chrome is gross and it not matching the rest of the toy is a huge contributor

SDCC Devastator is cool, but I think I'll stick with the mass market one. I'm disappointed in the Combiner Hunters three pack. The weapons are ridiculously oversized and the only one who's paint scheme I like is Arcee. I may try to see if I can track Arcee down loose at a later date.

I'll stick with the retail one myself. What with the 3rd party parts coming out for it, it's gonna be pretty nice in the end.

I really like the box, silver wheels, and a few other paint apps on the SDCC version, but the chrome does take away from it. I would have preferred if they had gone with a metallic purple type of plastic instead, similar to to the Takara Transformers Adventures Roadblock (Generations Scoop redco). You have to see the figure up close to really see the metallic look.

I might still get the SDCC version though and swap out the mixing drum, chest wing, and head with the retail verison to see how that turns out... or maybe the Takara version will actually be setup just like that and I can just wait for it instead.

    We will see I guess.

Man, wish there was a way to get that Windblade separately (other than hoping for a loose one on eBay afterwards.)

Anyone buying the set but don't need her?

Really is a shame about that chrome on the SDCC version -- otherwise that would be my ideal version (love all the extra detail matching the G1 toy deco). Now I guess for me it just comes down to what Takara will be offering and what the potential cost differential it will be vs the regular Hasbro release.

I have the original trio of fembots but may pick the set up as I love Arcees look plus the oversized weapons will look great being held by a Combiner.

Hasbro Devastator is better then this (Im assuming this is the takara one)

Still unsure if Ill get him.

if this was 1999 or 2000 this devastator would blow my mind.. but it's 2015 and we've seen it done better by people who actually like transformers and know what transformers fans want.

sure.. some people like it because it's big, green, and purple, but this isn't a special figure like it should be. it's just not, and that's a shame.

Its not special other then its height and its devastator. Hes a tad bland and for all the money hes going to cost he should be more special both in combined mode and individual.

    Hes just not.

Yep, first thing I noticed. As pleasant a surprise as it is, who among you can honestly say they haven't secretly enjoyed Hasbro's carnival of mistransformed horrors every convention season?

Also, Bonecrusher getting pride of place alongside Devastator on the top shelf? Right on.

Failing an utterly lovely version of Devastator from Takara, it really will have to be the SDCC version that I seek out.

And I really must own that Arcee...

I'm sorry, but it is RIDICULOUSLY apparent that this was a MUCH smaller scale figure that they just "made big". The engineering looks subpar on basically every figure. :(
The combined mode is the saving grace. But Hasbro should really be selling these at $120 MAX.

Hasbro panel is on Saturday, right? The case usually gets updated afterwards?
