The Transformers Collectors' Convention - BotCon 2015!

 

I really liked 2012 and 2014's box art, this one is just ok, I know they were going for old time western wanted posters but the lack of color in the packaging makes it not as eye catching. Maybe they could have gone for a "Usual Suspects" style homage with the characters in a police line-up?

 

I like the Usual Suspects idea. Maybe they should do that for the cover of the comic.

 

It's really bland to me. First time I have not liked the box art so far. I don't like that... at all. I display the boxes lined up so you only see the sides normally but man, that is disappointing. The coffee cup and pencil just seem silly in a world without humans... Unless something in the souvenirs is a human or humanoid character. Who knows?
:EDIT: I'd be all in for a new Ga Mede though.

I like it as well, though I also like the Usual Suspects idea.

Maybe this showed up before and I didn't pick up on it until now, but I take it the "Maximal" and "Autobot" designations added to Packrat's & Stepper's posters are for legal reasons?

 

So to get the conset one has to buy two packages? Man funpub gets greedier every year.

I'm not sure where you're seeing that. If you purchase a boxed set, you get a boxed set. If you want to buy a bagged set, then yes, you have to first purchase a boxed set. It's always been that way.

 

Where did you read that?

You just need a Primus(Attending) or Iacon(Non-Attending) Package to get the boxset.

As for the box art, not my cup of tea, but it will definitely stand out in comparison to other boxes.

I knew I'd seen it somewhere. Couldn't place where. Didn't know that it was the box art though.

Wow, reused artwork. So we don't even get a nice box this year? At least the shittest previous box sets had some kind of decent art on the front of the box.

This looks like something I'd throw together in my first semester of college 3 hours before I had to present it and had been up the whole night before. "Ah, shit! I've got that assignment due for Mr DeSouza's class this morning! Uh...quick. What do I have done? Um. Character bio art! OK, let's slap those on there. That'll take up a lot of space. What else? Oh, um. here let me take a picture of my keys. Bring that in. Oh, and my coffee. Yeah, just use the hue and saturation to make it look like energon. OK. Done! That's an "A" for sure! Now where's the rest of the beers at?"

 

I honestly love Botcon boxart.

 

I feel bad for Rattrap.

The police are going to look at this flyer and throw him in the back of a cruiser, pleading "Ya got the wrong guy!"

 

I started wondering, what if Marissa Faireborne is somehow incorporated into the story? It would at least explain human keys.........maybe? Plus it would at least tie in to the club offering her toy, and very possibly at Botcon.

But how do you really feel?
