Truly? Was there little to no interest in these sets this year?

Please shed some light on this (or anyone) as nobody's talking. I can't even get a good barometer on if this con was a hit or miss.

Well this helps explain why there didn't seem to be as many eBay auctions for this stuff as in years past.

I can't say I'm surprised. The pairings at a blush seemed off. I would have been much more interested in the clones if they were done up as the Autobot clones (which would seem more appropriate for the car and jet Vehicon redeco). Plus $95 for two deluxes seems a bit much.

Yes. Assholes for saving you thousands of dollars on lodging and transportation. $42 for a free toy, magazines and the opportunity to buy these toys at convention cost is an outrage.

This. It seemed to me to be a missed opportunity. Also, I kinda called it that they would be re-decoed as their G1 Pounce and Wingspan namesakes. It works, but only just. Fastlane and Cloudraker would be much much better, but I'd guess new tooled heads would add more to overall costs.

 

I think that says more about the location than the number of souvenir sets made.

It's likely the souvenir sets will sell out now that they are available to non-attendees.

 

OR...

Now comes the part where people wonder if they should hoard 'em to re-sell 'em. I mean, with only 10-per customer, you'd think these would be gone... uh, super-fast... Ah, no. Considering last year it was 5-per order (I think), they may have a ton of these left. Whomever has the bank to clear out TFCC's stock, good luck to them.

 

Yes, the counter was dead at noon on Saturday. Employees standing around, no joke.
