I heard some a hole with a camera cut the panel short. He snapped a pic and Hasbro just stopped where they were. So we got less reveals. Anyone know any truth to this?

I had high hopes for these leader figures... and the announced Voyager Optimus. These look... awkward. Very awkward. Aesthetically... dumb? Retrograde? Childish? It's really feels like the engineering could be just as simple, and still yield a much better looking, aestheticized robot mode.

It's almost staggering that these and Voyager Brainstorm are part of the same line! I really hope that whoever is reponsible for these designs does NOT stay with the company... or sticks to 1-step changers or whatever.  

Not a fan. Maybe with some customizing...? Megatron's tank mode looks alright at least. In any case, at the Leader price-point, these will not be new purchases. Strictly big sales or second-hand.

One of my favorites actually. But I was really hoping for some IDW goodness.

 

Prime's not too impressive just yet - I hope they reveal a Powermaster mode in the future.

When they talk about the 2015 theme being Combiners, I hope they mean more than the just the Special Teams.

Theoretically, that could include Powermaster Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Overlord, and more Headmasters (like Fort Max and Scorponok). Maybe even Rodimus Prime.

 

I can't believe we've been waiting since 2006 for an updated CHUG Voyager Optimus Prime and we get...this. IMO, he looks worse than Classics Optimus. Not that Classics Optimus was a bad design per se, it just didn't look all that G1. This doesn't look G1 nor is it aesthetically appealing. It looks like the upcoming TRU excl. Evolutions Optimus Prime will be my default CHUG Optimus Prime.

Saw on twitter that somebody mentioned seeing a helicopter deluxe as a silhouette. Rotorstorm, perhaps? Maybe even Vortex if next year is combiner themed.

 

Paint the inner legs, beef up the cannon. Not Mr. Right, but Mr. Right Now.

 

Why have a filler figure at all? You're better off waiting for a real MP release. Unlike other lines we know they'll get to a Megatron in the proper scale eventually. Unless the line itself gets cancelled.
