Corporations always blame the economy when they want to enact cost cutting measures and increase their profit margins. It's the way of things now. Don't believe me? Do some research. We still have sub par quality toys, with sub part paint apps, toys which are smaller in size, yet cost more than the more complex and better detailed toys from six years ago.

Also, let's logic this out. The RoTF line did the best, and was closest to the recession. During a recession, people spend less money, yet RoTF's line did quite well, very well in fact. So, where did Hasbro suddenly lose a lot of money due to the economy on the Transformers Brand? Because clearly it wasn't during the recession based on the financial data we have.

Ask me that again, after you look at the movie generations lines, and the reveal that a lot of the stuff coming along the way movie wise is repaints of other items.
