Hey guys, I know we're very much post-Botcon 2014 here, but following convention chatter and such, my eyes got a little bit wider following Benson Yee's Twitter feed. I tend to really enjoy the "behind the scenes" types of things, and I had a lot of fun keeping up with Ben Yee while he was tweeting these. I figured that some of you may have missed out on these, and I thought I'd go through and organize everything just a little bit for easier reading. By all means, if I've missed something or am in error, please kindly let me know.

• [We] almost used the Web diver Bumblebee, but the sculpt was not available;

• In 2007 we proposed an Alternators set. Galvatron from Wheeljack, Cyclonus from Mirage, Magnus as the Ford pickup;

• Animated Optimus as Kup.

What are some of your thoughts on these? Which ones would you have liked to seen, and which ones are you glad really didn't get to see the light of day? I tend to have very strong feelings with the Alternators/Binaltech line, and that's no secret, so I really didn't want to see those. However, some of these like Bugly and Animated Nightracer are really cool to me. The Crosshairs is very intriguing as well!

 

The Stunticon Job one was much stronger than their initial idea for Animated, which frankly is too reliant on previous Botcon related stories.

 

I would have loved to see the Nightracer from Animated Arcee and Strika from Bulkhead happen.

My god. So much of the fandom would be in hospitals with rectal hemorrhaging.

 

Mindwipe as Overlord?


Man, and I thought Strafe was an odd idea for that mold.

 

I think the club's intention was for Mindwipe to be Mega from Masterforce (basically the jet part of Overlord) to go along with her husband, Botcon Giga(tron).

 

I kind of figured that, but it's still a weird choice, as the two jets look nothing alike. Honestly, the Silverbolt mold would work way better. Or even Energon Storm Jet.

 

Thunderclash and the turbo master sounds good but I can't see many options for rotorstorm, also we would not get many of the predators.

 

I would have loved any of those Animated toys. I still would. Especially Strika.

 

They could use Tomahawk, a non-Prime mold we know they had access to.

Would jump on a number of these, but especially Twilight Sparkle Prime.

 

Tigerhawk as Predaking actually works shockingly well.

It'd go great with Defensor out of RiD Prime.

 

Animated Tigatron and Shockaract would have been very cool to see, though I'm down for pretty much anything Animated.

 

Animated Optimus, the deluxe I am assuming, as Kup. I would love to see them revisit animated at a botcon some years down the road and see this.

 

People have been clamoring for this mold to be used as Kup for years, and I'd love to see it just because I'm jonzin' from some new Animated, but the mold doesn't fit the design for Animated Kup. Maybe if the story called for this to be young/flashback Kup in his prime (no pun intended) during the Great War and old man Kup is spinning the yarn about some of his past glories.

I'd love to see any of the Animated toys mentioned, but apparently "the fans don't have interest in Animated figures".

Strika out of Bulkhead would be cool. Even cooler would be Strika out of Leader Bulkhead as he's armed to the teeth as Strika should be, but it would require a head remold and a chest remold to get rid of his Autobot symbol. Plus it would give me an excuse to finally own that mold (in my book Bulkhead doesn't have guns and missiles)

 

More animated and the Twilight Sparkle is a brilliant idea.
