Couldn't they just put up a picture of the figure, rather than making us sit through 2 minutes of a video to see it?

Anyway, I like the layout of the colour scheme and it's a decent mold. However, I don't think the mold is really fitting for the character; there's just so much detailing on the mold that's intended to represent Bludgeon that I can't see it working for anyone else (save Banzaitron) without significant retooling. I'll definitely be passing on this figure set, unless Metalhawk is so outstanding that it makes up for four of the figures being crap (the SG stuff) and Overlord being underwhelming.

On the positive side, I'm glad to see at least some of the Movie molds are now available for use by the Club and hopefully they'll make better use of them in the future.

 

Agreed. Nice looking toy, but it doesn't scream "Overlord".

 

I would have never guessed that mold for Overlord (heck, I never thought Botcon would use Movie molds for exclusives) but since RotF Bludgeon is one of my all-time favorite Transformers toy, I can't say I'm disappointed! As long as I can afford it, this set is an easy purchase...I'm looking forward to Metalhawk and Treadshot next.

Well, thats a bummer..Overlord is not a Samurai. Totally missed everything about Overlord in that mold choice (other then the tank).

Head looks cool.

 

Interest killed, that mold is so not overlord it's untrue. Hooray, I save money!  

 

My reactions:

I'm really surprised they're using a Voyager mold. With 6 figures in the box I was nearly certain it would be all deluxes.

I want those 2 minutes of my life back.

But that's such a shitty mold! Though it looks decent enough in those colors. The chest works really well for the powermaster slots too.

Maybe in four years we'll get a new official Overlord. It worked for Thundercracker, right?

 

really dig the head.... and, like Primo I am a HUGE OVERLORD fan...

A choice between the two I would probably prefer the Silverbolt mold as well, even though I like the Bludgeon mold much more. It just doesn't fit Overlord in Botmode. Maybe it was asking too much to include an Ultra size figure in the boxset with 6 figures.

 

An interesting pick, not sure how I feel about it.

 

Nice color scheme, but movie designs look glaringly out of place in the classic-verse.

 

I can't say I like it. But, I was never going to buy it in the first place so . . . .

 

They could not have picked a worse toy for Overlord. Pass.

 

I think vehicle mode will work out.. but bot mode is way out of place for me.. I like the colors though.. Darn.. :-/

Are the swords still crap? 'Cause I don't want a badass charater like Overlord to have swords that wengys and ginglies all over the place.

I can see what they're going for with the alt mode. But honestly the colors, even if accurate, are dreadful outside of robot mode. Risky choice. I don't care at all for most botcon classics and even less so for shattered glass so eh. Hope you guys enjoy it.

 

I gotta admit, I'm pretty disappointed with the mold choice.

I am pretty sure it was once mentioned that the movie toys could no / would not be used for Botcon toys... What's next? Mindwipe+Skystalker as Metalhawk?
