In Five Faces of Darkness Part 4, when Rodimus Prime short-circuits himself to enter the Matrix, he meets an old, sunglasses-wearing Autobot whose first line of dialogue is: "Rodimus Prime! You have embarked on a journey into Cybertron's distant past! Prepare to look into the face of your creator!" I'm thinking we might be getting our first-ever G1 Sentinel Prime. Maybe some of the other Primes. Could it be an all-Prime boxset?
and what? fuck us over that are in the middle of the country? yeah that is a beautiful plan i don't care what the botcon 2012 stuff is, i ain't going anyway, its gonna be announced some far away place that i can't reach as always and it will be toys i want. I gave up even hoping it will be somewhat near to texas and went ahead and booked my anime convention, knowing there no way botcon will be close... i might sound a bit hateful its just when year after year you get your hopes up to going you start to get a tad bit angry
true, but he'd still be a good figure... awesome! i love that mold. I've got all 3 versions... never thought to build a base out of them though... a big set of Primes could be pretty cool. or even just a Sentinel Prime would be awesome.
I hope it is NOT another Optimus. They can do Wreckers They can do a lot of other things But just not another optimus.
3 from way back getting their first updates? Teletran, Vector Sigma and Auntie finally getting bot modes...has to be
yes, i'm sure when Botcon is figuring out their location the first thing they think of is how to "fuck over" fans... just because it's not in your state (which we don't even know yet, since it hasn't been announced) doesn't mean you can't get to it... rent a car, take a train, fly, walk, there is always a way, if you want to go.
I can't see it being any of the 13, or Orion Pax - they never had original figures, so they can't technically be 'updated'. The Di/ynobots don't seem right either; only Sludge hasn't had any kind of update, plus there aren't any existing molds to use (well) for their designs. So, i'm stumped.....
1 is a "MUST HAVE" for 80's fans. 3 are first updates ever. 2 are "distant" past. Well... first update... should we assume that those are names of characters never reused in all the past 20+ years since their G1 toy was made? Or should we assume homages were never redone? What are some of the must-have 80s toys that were only released once? Guess it's time to scour TFU.info for a bit... It most likely *won't* be dinobots as only two haven't been revived in any line. Grim/Swoop have gotten a couple of updates... and Slag was in Animated. I mean... Snarl/Sludge would satisfy the "distant past" but if only 1 is dubbed "must have" that this can't be right. Furthermore, who would stand alongside these two Dinobots?
Pete must be having a great time with this thread. lol Not the must have but Tailgate from Windcharger would make for a much desired figure. They pretty much trashed any hopes to complete the 84 cast of Autobots. That only leaves Soundwave and the Cassettes minus ravage. Seeing as TFCC does not do new moulds the cassettes are gone. So Soundwave from Perceptor is possible but then again it wouldn't be a must have because he will lose his cassette/minion holding feature. Moving on to 85. Combiners are out because they are all stand alone figures. I can see a moded Shockwave from Energon Shockblast. If they mode the head and hand add the tube and proper paint he can be the must have. And he would also fit into the never revamped clue. If you agree that Shockblast, although intended to be Shockwave, is not Shockwave. If Trailbreaker is out so then is Hoist (I wonder if TB, Brawn and Gears are on deck for Hasbro??? :O ) That leaves us with Cosmo, Beachcomber, Skids, the remaining Dinobots, Omega Supreme, Blitzwing and the Insecticons. Of these I can only see Skids being feasible. My guesses, and this is only because we will not see an original mould, are Tailgate from Windcharger Shockwave for E. Shockblast Skids from Ironhide/Ratchet??? AlphaTrion from Scourge Soundwave from Perceptor. I am really starting to see SHockwave as the MUST HAVE figure.
botcon has been too far away for folks in my part of the country since 2006, and the way things point that ain't gonna change. I'm afraid of heights and really can't go that far off cause of my mom's health so my only hope is to hope for a reasonably close botcon, which the way botcon seems to not want to do. its just uber frustrating, and with how late they announce where it is, its pointless to try and schedule for it this year, i'll just go to my anime convention instead, who, at least, tell you the year before when and where it is gonna be
Shockblast was not really that great of a mold. Ratchethide were bad molds, too. Scourge is a good mold but Alpha Trion ought to be ... taller..
The Incredible Movie Shockwave Custom Transformers http://www.customactionfigures.net/2010/02/custom-transformers-henkei-shockwave/ https://figurerealm.com/viewcustomfigure.php?FID=18224 the link is to a pic of a moded Shockwave from Shockblast. It really does work and would fit in with Classics. I know the A3 will be small but most of Classics are deluxes and TFCC doesn't have many Voyager plus moulds to pull from and still make a G1 screen character.
i agree that i'd love to know the location a year before, but i think it's harder with them moving each year. most conventions, as far as i know, stick in one spot each year. if we know a location before Halloween, i'll be happy.
^it works but the shockblast is also heavily modded. If we get something from TFC, it isn't going to be heavily modded, me thinks Actually, I thought the Vector Prime to Alpha Trion wasn't so bad.
