I could see a Wreckers box set and I could see a WFC Dinobots set, however, they wouldn't be dinosaurs, they would have cybertronian modes. Either way, I am looking forward to this set regardless, even if it is not one of those 2
True, but all they really have to do is paint those decepticon symbols red. All of a sudden you have Heroic Decepticon Broadside. Give a nice little bio about how he switched sides, and people would eat that shit up. The set aside I really hope BotCon is in the northeast this year. I wasn't a huge fan of the Providence layout, but I'd take it again. Boston would be a great place for the con. There are plenty of convention centers, hotels and attractions for the trips.
"1 is talking about the entire set"...? Um... are you talking about the "1 is a MUST-HAVE figure for 80s fans" hint?... because I think that hint rather specifically refers to it being 1 figure, not the whole set of figures. The mixes: 2005: 1 ultra, 1 deluxe, 5 scout 2006: 1 voyager, 2 deluxe, 2 scout 2007: 1 voyager, 4 deluxe 2008: 2 voyager, 3 deluxe, 1 minicon 2009: 1 ultra, 1 voyager, 3 deluxe 2010: 1 ultra, 1 voyager, 3 deluxe 2011: 1 voyager, 4 deluxe So excluding 2005 and the minicon from 2008, it's always been 5 figures, rather consistent. But there is almost no consistency with the exact mix of pricepoints. 2010 repeated the mix of 2009 and 2011 repeated the mix of 2007. So don't 'lock in' to a specific number of a specific pricepoint for the whole set. There is no usual formula in that regard. I think 5 is likely, 6 could happen if they used some mold that had a minicon partner or if it was all deluxes(getting somewhat more likely given Generations was all deluxes, but I still think they'd want to do 1 larger "centerpiece" figure). I even think 4 is a possibility if they used a leader mold.... I has happy to accept Pre-beast Rhinox having an Autobot symbol as his reverence for his ancestors, but others still complained about that so I really don't see Broadside with multiple Decepticon symbols really flying... especially with that not being a previous part of his back story and he's wanted as a "Wrecker" probably by fans who'll be more sticklers about it.
So the one year I think about ponying up money for a set, it looks like the ebay prices will be the highest. Great.
all you have to do then is say he's Shattered Glass Broadside and the red decepticon logo's work fine.
First Update ever...hmmm.....wow....time to watch the original series and read marvel....who can it be ? Almost everybody I can think of have been updated.....
yeah, that's why i think that'd work just fine. a heroic SG decepticon would align himself with the regular Autobots, while an evil SG Autobot would align himself with decepticons, but also think of a way to remove them from the situation.
But then he's SG Broadside, and I don't think that's really what the Broadside-wanters really want. I think that sentiment, that is shared by many, is one reason it wouldn't fit with Pete saying it'll be the "MUST HAVE" figure. However, for myself, I strongly disagree with that sentiment.
Diaclones. That makes the most sense. They've got classic molds, and many Diaclone toys haven't gotten updates. They are the "ancient past" of the Transformers, while still being in the 80s.
Can we please get a announcement for Atlanta or Orlando Botcon please. I think they should switch between eastcoast and westcoast each year.
Hmmm... Distant Past? Perhaps a box set featuring some of the original 13? Maybe even something like a deluxe scale Primus, much like TFC Unicron?
"80s fan?" "Distant past?" "First updates ever?" This, plus the fact that they said they aren't doing Gears, Brawn, or Trailbreaker, is really getting me worried that they're doing Arcee, which could diminish our chances of getting a Classics one from Hasbro that I can actually afford. I know, it wouldn't destroy our chances of getting one completely, but I really hope that some of the ideas I'm seeing here about the original 13 are right.
