Here's a left field guess, a Diakron set! Generations Jazz in red - Aragon Generations Thunderwing in red, white, and blue - Cromar Power Core Combiner Sledge with Minicon in blue and yellow - Zetar Power Core Combiner Skyhammer with flying limbs in black and red - Multi-Force
Maybe, but at least I was the only one that I know of who asked on the TFCC forums. And hey, wouldn't it be cool if this year we got one prop car for every autobot form the bay films sans Jetfire on display next to a cardboard mock-up of their robot mode?
Blaster even got a Universe update, just a lame one. Useful to have that list though. Am I the only one who thinks Skids is a definite candidate, if they find the mold? It would be brilliant if they found a way to do Twin Twist and Topspin, though it would have to be a radical reinvention. Come to think of it, nothing they've said precludes some degree of "Wreckers" theme.
He was not referring to the quote you quoted. He was referring to this: With that last part of the quote and the quotation marks around distant, I think this shouldn't be taken as literally as it is. Especially with the idea of Dinobots. Heck, what molds are people expecting them to repaint to make Dinobots??? A new mold or extensive remold isn't happening, let alone multiples. If the G1 molds could be reissued, I doubt Hasbro would let FP make them just for Botcon. The minicons have been repainted in Dinobot colors. Animated(Grimlock, Swoop, "Snarl"), Energon(Grimlock, Swoop), and Classics Grimlock are already in Dinobot colors. BW Neo molds have already been repainted in G1-Dinobot-like colors. So any "Dinobots" would have to be vehicular alt-mode "Dynobots".
OH - duh. "Equally Awesome". I get it. If it's who I'm thinking though I dunno what molds they would use....
They highlighted "distant" when they mentioned distant past. Could that mean they're updating someone from the Japanese line? They mentioned also that each could stand on its own, definitely throwing out teams like Dinobots or combiners like the Constructicons. Most likely they're popular characters we've overlooked. I think they said 80s to eliminate speculation on other generations/lines. It now basically restricts them to G1.
Oh...what are you thinking? I was just making a joke about people over-interpreting things. But of course you may still be onto something. I really think it was just a little joke/troll on the part of TFCC.
yes, just like that... it was before that picture came out that I thought of it, but that's exactly what i'd love to see, just with a new head. yeah, Dynobots are probably not happening, unless in vehicles... and I took that 80's line to mean ONE figure is something from the 80's, but not that every figure is from the 80's... but i guess it's all speculation at this point.
The 80's hint could be referring to the style of deco like G2. They could be doing new versions of some of the throttlebots to go along with runabout/muck
I was thinking that too. While there have been a number of Soundwave updates, he (and Shockwave) both are in desperate need of a Classics style update.
I was just going to post that. And he can also be that MUST HAVE figure they mentioned. I know for me, of all deluxes, I would say Soundwave is the first pick of what needs to be made.
Somehow I don't think Soundwave repaint would be the must have transformer of the year, given the mold most likely wouldn't be reminiscent of anything from his classic look nor be able to handle any cassettes, classics or modern (ala Hound's Ravage). I'd be more inclined to think Overlord ("distant" past), and maybe a Wreckers team given that some of the Wreckers would qualify as TFs getting their first updates.
"80's" fan? Not specifically an "80's Transformers" fan? Crossing my fingers for Cy-Kill from Wreck-Gar....
Does anyone else just HATE trying to guess what the figures could be? I get a headache this time every year
