This update from the Botcon 2011 website:

Evidently "The Invasion Has Begun..." according to the Botcon homepage. I'm wondering if that's an extremely vague hint at next years theme. Check it out here & here (hotel info).

 

Sonova bitch. I'm still in recovery mode from Botcon 2010 and don't know if I'll go in 2011 yet.

HRm.. book room anyways and cancel 2 days before next Botcon when I realize I didn't register? Sounds like a plan.

 

I really have to make it to one of these but as a male, I don't plan this far in advance lol. Remind me about this in 10 months. Also, whats the big deal about staying in the "Botcon" Hotel? Do you get something special for staying at a designated place?

 

It's usually adjacent to the convention centre. That's the main advantage. They have fortunately never revisited the room exclusives after the whole Sunstreaker debacle.

 

The Travelodge a couple of miles down the road is looking attractive, mainly for the ridiculously cheap room rate me and Locustreign are getting!

 

A Botcon debacle? I don't believe these lies!! That would never happen.

Soo.. what was the Sunstreaker problem you speak of? I have not heard of it before.

 

This was back when OTFCC was briefly the official Transformers convention. OTFCC 2003 had Sunstreaker (repaint of RID Prowl) as its convention hotel exclusive for those who booked at that hotel in advance, while Sideswipe was just a regular exclusive.

 

Oh ok, thanks for the heads up. I might actually go to Botcon next year... maybe. its between Botcon and the Super Bowl since its in Dallas.

 

Wow. That is the first time I ever heard of Botcon being compared to the Superbowl lol. Tough choice man

 

So how long will it be before Botcon hotels are sold out TWO years in advance?  

 

Uh, didn't this sell out within about 8 hours of it being announced at this year's BotCon?

I'm willing to bet (a) more rooms will eventually be added to the block and (b) some of the "early adopters" will be canceling, thus reopening some rooms.

Shoot.   I really want to go in 2011. Never been to one. I hope they find more rooms or another hotel with a lot more rooms or something. Do they charge right away when you book, or not?

 

Additionally, the toys were limited to one per room, per day of the convention, weren't they? So obviously with the Botcon tendency of getting 3-4-more people to a room, someone in each room had to miss out.

i'm gonna contact runamuck to see if he wants in, if we get enough, we can drive haha i am currently talking to my best friend who is also into transformers if he wants in, we will see what happens lol

I too have started trying to figure out plans for Botcon 2011, flight from Boston for under $400, check; hotel reservation, DUH!

anyone need a roommate for the weekend? LOL
