Hot damn.. I'd definitely go if I can be in LA at the time. Trouble is I'll be living in another country so coming back just for that occasion is going to be a bit tricky. I have been to all the Botcons held in Pasadena so hopefully I can keep the streak going.

So glad to see FunPub actually cares

Man was I bummed I had to miss last year's con when it was out in Pasadena (only like a half hour drive for me or so) due to not having the funds to go at all (didn't start working until last August), so when it was announced that it'd be in Florida, hell Disney World of all places....well that was rather not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping for at least something closer, I mean it's always more towards the east coast, why not give us on the west a bit more love, y'know? I know it's probably only because of the movie next year...but what can I say, knowing I'm actually gonna be going to Botcon next year (with my gf to boot) just about made my day.

BOOOOO! I was hoping for NYC. (>.<) Maybe 2012, if were still alive then.

but seriously why do they always do Pasadena so much....i much Botcon 2004, Then Botcon 2009, now Botcon 2011 what are they pulling here? They're so much better places to do Botcon. Hell a return to providence, RI would be awesome.

I was really hoping I could go to Botcon next year....with the location though, I probably won't be able to. I definately wouldn't mind saving and seeing where it goes from there though

I don't think Michael Bay confirmed the third movie at that point. If I remember right he was going to take a year off and only decided to do the third movie well after the second one debuted.

Dunno why everyone's so "why pasadena"

    Next year means transformers 3

Pasadena means located right next to Hollywood.

We'll probably see ano5her party n screening at paramount and id be all over that. I had a blast last time

    All makes sense to me

It is, put simply, not true that buying the toys is "mandatory" with pre-registration. FP specifically offers a pre-registration option (I think, without explicitly checking to verify, that it's the protoform package) for those who don't want the toys.

Now, yes, it's over $100, and you might not want to pay that much. Even so, a non-toy pre-registration option has always existed.

OK people one thing that you must realize is that Conventions is also a business. Botcon is no different. Besides making it an enjoyable time for all that attends, they want as much people to attend at the best value without losing money.

Location is a very important decision for convention organizers. Is the convention in a pleasant location? Is transportation, finding good hotels and restaurants an issue? Are people willing to go to the particular city? Sorry Ohio, besides Botcon itself, I enjoyed Orlando and the LA area over Cincinnati. If there was another Botcon in Chicago or even St Louis, I would go. Think about it? Will there be more people willing to attending Botcon in popular and more populated areas like LA/Pasadena CA and Orlando FL than places like Cincinnati OH and Pawtucket, RI?

On a side note, A future Las Vegas or New York Botcon would be awesome.

Awesome. Pasadena's lovely; both Botcons I've been to there rocked. I'm in. :)
And for those of you moaning that you have to travel to get there: Suck it up and start saving. Some of us aren't even on the same continent, and we still manage most years. Distance is a thoroughly pants excuse, to be blunt. We get this sort of crap every year, and every year it's still a useless reason not to go.
You have a year's lead time for planning and saving this year.
    Get to it.

Or you could just buy an extra Botcon set, sell it and use whatever profit you make to re-imburse yourself for all your expenses.

Made the reservation this morning with Freyabeads, too soon to tell yet if we'll get to go. Wish it was closer and surprised it's in CA again.
