It's unfortunate that the class is the only way to get the figure. I'm sure some people have legitimate reasons for leaving the class with the everything unassembled such as they prefer to use the tools they have at home but if they're that advanced then they do not need to be in a customizing class. I think they should require that if you're going to be in the class then you're going to be required to put the figure together. That way we can have an advanced class.

 

This will be my first class, I will be there on Thursday. Although a newb here, I think that the class is probably not just about making money for the convention or funpub. I imagine it is set up so that fans can have a good hands-on experience. Too many classes with too many people can be overwhelming. In fact, I bet if they did expand it and make it more commercial, then fans would complain that their experince sucked because there were too many people in the classes. I can understand the frustration felt by most who want to get in. I consider myself very lucky.

 

That's a pretty negative thing to say.

 

The customizing class really needs to expand. There is much more of an interest than when this first started. This is especially in light of people who aren't interested in customs but are interested in the figure in the customs class. Case in point: G2 Sideswipe MiSB

I think they started putting the screen names on the badge if you put it there when you signed up. I'll have to dig out last year's badge and check. It's small though.

I would have wanted to but I was skiing in Norway and no internet, hade to do the registration over the phone with the gf about a day after the reg went up.

oh well... more time drinking in the bar then.

 

First of all let me get this out of the way. For the second year in a row I missed out. Not gonna grip about it, fact is I did not hear about open registration until the class was full. Now, a lot of people are stating that Hasbro or FP whoever could make a lot of money offering more classes. The fact is, they are probably losing money on this. The cost to even produce a limited run of say 150 is a lot. A lot more than they charge for the class. Also, Shawn's time. I petitioned last year to increase the size and it looks like they did. Even if it was only by 5. I even came up with the idea to have two classes going on at the same time so a total of 4 classes. Basically if you have been to the class before you go into an "advanced" class where Shawn would not have to say and lend his talents. I think that expanding the class would be great but from a financial point of view they would probably charge something like $150 per person. just a thought oh and congrats to all who are going. Wish I was with ya.
