Just thought I'd bring it up here as well. If anyone needs the Gumball machine pack with Crumbly Yumbly, let me know. I have an extra at the ready until Thursday night.

That's on the toy, too. Only difference is on the toy he has two wheels, more like a bicycle, so he can stand in a more stable position.

I like to think of it as he's the first BB with his own vehicle.

    Playroom Posse:
Captain Crashtastic - Accident-prone toy airplane. Maybe adapt one of the Micromaster jet sculpts or Tiny Turbo Starscream?
Stinker Sinker - Flatulent toy submarine.

My Target got in Series 5 5-packs, and then Series 4 blind bags a few days later. I only buy the blind bags, so I was okay skipping Series 4 as there really wasn't much that I wanted, but since they showed up... Went ahead and grabbed Face Ace for myself & the binoculars for my kid's bday. Really digging Face Ace's translucent blue & Wall-E look, he's got tons of personality. All the little molded details are cool too, especially since they could have just left it smooth.

Makes me sad they haven't done more with that translucent plastic. Heck, when are we getting glow in the dark Botbots?

You mean ANOTHER Store Exclusive Gimmick line that may or may not see US distro like Bakery Bytes/Lawn League? :(

Hmmm... since we seem to be getting 2 or more rival Tribes for each theme...

Radio Actives - glow-in-the-dark science supplies (Science Alliance rivals/redecoes)

Don't put that evil on us ha ha. I was thinking more to replace the gold trophy variants.

I'd rather have glow in the dark than gold versions. I honestly don't care about the gold guys.

Ditto. They’re nice to look at, but they don’t really make sense, story-wise. Okay, so a stick of candy floss was struck by Energon and turned into a Transformer - fine, makes sense. But this same mall just happened to have a stick of gold candy floss lying around too?

Or did the mall just have its own golden lagoon as a water feature?

    (shrugs)

To me it is nothing story wise. It is they are bland. One solid color is dull. If it has glow in the dark feature, the you get normal colors with glow in the dark features. Think of a flashlight. Main body can be normal color. But make the lens GitD. This keeps the figure looking normal, but the feature does not cause a problem.

i love the variety of the botbots. You got appliances, food, plants, sports equipment, misc. but you take a cool figure and make it gold and i feel meh.

    Dr. Flaskenstein will explain everything.

Probably late this week or next, depending on my schedule.

There aren’t many of the gold ones that really work for me beyond the rock, the game controller, and the spade. The fact that they’re gold seems to have conveyed a disingenuous sense of rarity. I guess that’s cool for some people? Collecticon lists his for twenty bucks each on his site, and he says people are buying them. Which, frankly...

    Yeah, it’s kinda gross.
But the last one I want is Gold Digger, so I’ll likely end up paying as well. What can ya do?
But yeah, I’m eager for a new gimmick, there. Glow in the dark sounds perfect, sign me up for a glowing Halloween Knight. I’m a sucker for what looks to be a few translucent versions we have coming up. Sapphire Quackles with a few extra paint apps would be really snazzy.

Ton of minifigure lines have super rare metallic/gold variants, the idea came from there probably. From the few lines I collected, Invizimals, Lego Minifigs, Lion Guard, Egyxos have all done it.
As some said, the next thing likely will be glow-in-the-dark, or the other golden oldie exclusive idea - translucent versions.

    "For SCIEEEENCEEEE!!!"
Damn I miss Spoony. He was funny before he went, y'know, totally bonkers.

They are obviously the result of Dr Flaskenstein discovering Electrum, yes. ;)

OK here is an idea there was an unusual side effect of the energy wave that did replicate the effects of the Electrum process when it interacted with some feature at the mall (like the Zen Garden or something) and so some bots fell in it or jumped in it or were otherwise effected and they are all Electrum plated - perhaps these can also be considered the best of the best - the sort of opposite of the lost bots who would be the lowest of the low. Or maybe there was an explosion in the electroplating facility of some car repair shop tagential to the mall.

or they are all simply novelty trophies.
