I find it hard to believe that we have seen all of the exclusives for this year. Only 1 figure larger than a deluxe outside of the Primus pack and only 1 new head outside of the Primus pack for a total of only 4 new heads. Shouldn't there be another Voyager or Ultra size figure with a new head? Did I miss a figure?

I'd like Slicer to be Partnered with Scourge (made from DX Energon Optimus) he'd make decent legs for the fella.

 

Last year was the only year that we got more than one "bigger than deluxe" toy in the souvenir packs, so it's not as if there HAD to be one this year. Plus, Double Punch is an ultra while last years were voyagers, I'd say that (to an extent) makes up for it. In fact, I think this is the first year where we've got 2 ultras in the whole set.

Did anyone besides me notice Slicerjack has the original 'con insignia and not the G2 one ?

 

He wasn't a G2 character originally, he was an Action Master

 

Maybe SG Wheeljack escaped into the G2 universe and now he's posing as Slicer, SG Ravage went after him and now Ravage is posing as Glit and SG Scorpanok has gone after Ravage and he's posing as Double Punch and the insignias aren't G2 because they time traveled too some how.

I do hope they add a couple former action masters every year and keep up with this trend   Banzaitron is still one of my favs from last year. While it still doesn't feel very G2 to me...more like G2 prequel than redux...I like what we've seen in the set (my criticism of Sideswipe's distribution not withstanding...)

 

Well, yes, for Slicer and Ravage, that is the theory that most people are positing. But I don't see why that has anything to do with Double Punch. They haven't even introduced a Scorponok to the SGverse yet.

 

Whats keeping them from introducing him now ?

No reason why not. We should get more info in that regard later today, once the custom class and tour attendees get their packages. I know Sol Fury is attending the tour and he's generally our #1 news guy through Botcon.

 

My guess:

Because it would cost money to remold the chest symbol, they decided to paint it purple to match the Decepticon symbols on the doors (color wise that is) and as a side affect f*** with the fans and stir up drama.

 

If he's SG Wheeljack, then it saves me some money - not a fan of the whole SG premise, and I kinda wish the Club would get over it and try a little harder than just doing Mirror Universe versions of whatever toy molds they can get their hands on. If he's Slicer and that Autobot symbol can be explained away in some other fashion, then maybe I'll try and hunt him down. Disappointing, though, as I was really hoping for some more unique G2 Decepticons. Poor Clench is going to be leading an army of One against a small army of G2 Autobots.  

Double Punch, on the other hand... Man I want that, but it'll probably be a while before I can afford him. As it is, I've gotta hope the Scorch and Rapido figs are fairly reasonably priced on the secondary market. BotCon is not a good time to be low on funds...
