The Transformers Club Members Site has revealed what will come with the Hasbro Primus.

The head looks like the orange Armada Unicron with the right half of the face blown off to reveal a skelatal face. The horns on his head are busted up and he has wires, almost tentacle-like, coming from the neck area that will act as a base.

Looks a little...off...though. Still a pretty cool idea; maybe I will get one after all. Interesting that only "initial" quantities will have it, thus you probably won't be able to wait until it hits clearance and still get the head.

Still getting the Takara version though.

INITIAL quantities? What type of INITIAL quantities are we talking? Like, only if I run to my local stores every day looking for the first to show, or will I be safe if I preorder from BBTS?

This is huge for me. HUGE! And I MUST AQUIRE UNICRON'S HEAD! It is vital to me health and happiness.

Damn horns are the wrong color. 'Damaged' or not, shouldn't they be um, orange?

 

Looks like the top layer of the horns are stripped away ala damage. The horns themselves have a bone-like quality instead of the structure looking design of the armada head.

 

sounds awesome. can it connect to primus' cybertron mode at all?

if not, I wonder if someone will make a transparent stand to connect it to one of the powerlinx ports, for some head-orbiting action.

 

True. Still..I think that's the main thing that makes it look a little off. Maybe if they'd had at least one of the horns still partly orange toward the base/head and have it 'ripped' partway up to expose the gray 'bone.'

 

eh, doesn't really interest me. If they put that head in the Titanium line, I would definitely buy it.

Sounds damned cool to me. A damaged Uni head would add a lot of play value for both Primus and the Armadacron.

This pretty much cements my choice to go for Hasbro's Primus, which'll still be less expensive than the Takara one.

 

Definately NOT what was expected. I love it though, as it brings more Unicron to my collection.

But... why would we want to buy 2? Wasn't that what was said?

Unless he knew that we'd want the Takara one for the packaging...

 

That's a pretty dang cool exclusive. Much better that GF Primus' box. Plus, it's a nice G1 fanwank.

I just hope these "initial quantities" are relatively easy to find. Thank God I'll be home in the summer when he comes out. Larger figures are a heck of a lot easier to find in Danbury than in Savannah.

 

I'm with Night Flame - how many is "initial"? Is it going to 1,000 like the Sigma Six Long Range variant, which many people never had a chance to see? Or as limited as the Energon Ultra Magnus, which never made it into many stores?

I think this is a cool extra, but given the price of the toy, and the numbers of people who are probably planning to wait for it to go on clearance before picking it up, I would think a substantial run of "unicron heads" would be better, encouraging those fence sitters to open their wallets right away. Why bother if many will never see it in the store?
