Being a huge Bond fan (movie wise, I've just recently started reading the novels but I do have many Bond and Ein Flemming books just not the actual stories) the title is a bit odd. That being said I'm sure it'll kick all sorts of ass. I loved Casino Royale, it was a bit slow in parts but it would be my favorite Bond movie if it wasn't for the fact that Craig doesn't fit my image of Bond (same with Brosnan, after seeing Ms Doubtfire I just couldn't imagine him as Bond). My favorite Bond is probably Lazenby and Connery. Craig is a bit muscular and modelesque to be Bond to me, I do like his brutality and think he's an excellent actor though.
I did not enjoy Die Another Day either, and I resent the accusation, lol. It contains the worst theme song of the entire Bond series and has a horrible appearance by Madonna. It has Bond getting captured for 13 months. Which, in of itself is not bad, but the way it was just glossed over for the rest of the movie was terrible. That should be a major occurrence not a side note. The one liners were crap and Halle Berry sucked royally. Everything she said made me cringe. The only thing good about that movie was the Pre-Credits scene and even then it started out stupid as hell with the surfing. Not only that, that stupid ass tsunami wind surfing CGI fest had no place in a Bond film ever! The stunts should be done for real or not at all. So, no I did not like Die Another Day...it is the worst of them all. Casino Royale on the other hand, was just there...all it amounted to was hype for the new Bond that I didn't care for. I love Connery...dude was a man's man. Took care of business where it concerned the bad guys and the ladies. Moore is good too...I like his campy romps. Hell, I like Man with the Golden Gun just because of Christopher Lee. Lazenby was just out of place. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was pretty boring too. I have tried watching it many times over and I can't explain why I don't like it...things just seem off to me. Dalton was pretty good too...Licence to Kill just messed him up and killed Bond for 5 years until GoldenEye. Brosnan I liked...but was saddled with increasingly crappy scripts until the uber garbage that was Die Another Day.
I liked Die another Day... The Spy who Loved me is my favourite Bond film, skiing off a cliff with a Union Jack parachute FTW!
i thought Casino Royale was Diet Bond. Just one calorie, not Bond enough. I missed Q, I missed the gadgets, etc. It was an ok start, but really, it could've been any character in the role, not necessarily Bond. in the heirarchy of Bond, Connery is king. my favorite has to be Goldfinger. awesome car, best Bond girl name, mute bodyguard who throws a hat, c'mon, what more could you want?
Title doesn't bother me at all, and I am sure the movie will kick just as much ass as Casino Royale did.
at least they managed to come up with a title that didn't have the world die in it. there have been far worse titles and it sounds like a novel title, lets just hope that like casino royale it has great writing and is implimented correctly without a bad transition
I absolutely loved Casino Royale....probably one of my top Bond films. And I really like Craig as Bond, next to Connery IMO. Title is..interesting, I just hope the movie is good...and not some generic revenge story.
the movie should be good as long as they stop hiring "it" girls into bond girl roles like a cameo on a shitty sitcom. Denise Richards ftw!! also stay away from trying to trump the "omg howd he do that?!?!" factor of previous film's stunts..... and dont substitute story for off the wall characters (i.e. guy who cant feel pain, or guy with diamond acne) Casino Royale remedied everything that had gone wrong with the franchise in one film and i expect no less of this film.
Loved Casino Royale. Also loved On Her Majesty's Secret Service *ducks* Bond with a vengeance is gonna be awesome.
