    Right?

They were also very careful not to show off how he may combined with the other figures. It's almost as if they're designing it backwards so if/when they bail you'd just fill in the remaining figures form the SS set.

That's why it was weird to see it there.

Not bad at all, Scavenger needs to be bigger though... Working treads would be nice too!

I will wait for a better MP version of movie Devastator.

Well there’s that...and there’s the fact that KOs are running rampant right now, and these have serious studio series vibes... we’ll see at comic con I’m sure

Either way, I'm excited. If I don't get this one, it's a possible* new 3P that has a great start with movie figures.

*Because 3P vaporware is a thing, ya know.

I mean, that was the second half of the thought. They're working backwards for the sake of compatibility...but also some of the design concessions are odd. Why would you launch your company off the back of a 3P movie Devastator and you didn't take the effort to figure out how to make your Scavengers treads turn into wheels?

The way they tuck those inside the alt-mode before using them to fill out the grinder on the Devy really really really does come off like something Hasbro and Takara would do.

There will be no kudos for testicles. Not as long as I'm around.

Probably too big and costly for me to actually get, but as a Devastator mark, I do want it.

Disappointed it has the balls, though. I always thought that was dumb.

Also worth noting, I don't think they show any pics of Mixmaster's back.

It would be incredibly Takara/Hasbro-like to give SS Mixmaster a very well built bot mode from the front and then have to make design concessions that include him having the entire Devy face on his back (maybe covered by parts of the semi-cab.

I dunno, I want to believe...but I'm leaning towards "Someone KO'd the SS figures..." camp.

These being KOs of the as-of-yet-unseen SS figures would be the biggest twist in Transformers history.

Oh no it's going to be the Devastator wars all over again, but with the Movie version this time!

Obviously the Studio Series one will (probably) be better but this looks neat too. Scavenger's head looks super off but Mixmaster looks pretty solid. I'll follow this closely

For real, take your Bumblebee elitism somewhere else dude.

I mean, if you look at the torso mode they propose...the placement of the tubes and missile pods even mirror those of the SS Devy prototype we already saw.

Here's really what I'd call my final thought: Let's assume positive intent and these are legitimately new figures. If we can't tell them apart from potential Studio Series, are they worth the inevitable 3P pricing?

I have a weakness for Constructicons versions movie or not, so this may hit the spot for me. Personally I'd prefer the price point of the Studio Series as (likely) $100+ per limb doesn't exactly make me happy, but we'll see how things shake out as this set moves closer to production. Sets like this from unknown first time 3P's tend to disappear into the ether anyway, so I may be able to dodge the higher price point bullet, but we'll see.

I dunno. People seem to genuinely like ROTF Devastator.

    Maybe that's why?

Hard pass. If this was to be released like 2 years ago it would have been more appealing.

Mixmaster looks phenomenal but their Scavenger looks like the upscaled the legends toy and added finger articulation, I\'ll wait to see what the whole set looks like but I\'ll probably buy the Studio Series versions anyway.

It's going to have to be relatively affordable for me to double dip, especially given how satisfied I am with the two Studio Series Construction releases so far. And I deffo wouldn't straight switch up, especially to a company with no form. Look very decent, like, and good luck to 'em - though if it turns out these are straight rips of the forthcoming HasTak versions, I'm gonna be less impressed.

I do think it's great though, that one of the most divisive modern day Transformers designs is getting some real time in the spotlight. I know a lot of people hate LAM Devastator, but there's also a lot of people who don't, and seeing this impossibly ambitious monster of a team being realised in plastic warms the heart.

This happens every time a different version of the same character comes out. People assume that it’s a KO or “stole” ideas from the first one cause they look the same, but no one assumes that they look the same BECAUSE THEYRE THE SAME CHARACTER. It’s only smart to use what worked from previous figures and discard what didn’t work. It’d be stupid and wasteful engineering to completely 100% redo each figure of the same character from the ground up.

I’m gonna ignore the “it’s a KO” thing cause it’s silly. They’re starting with characters that Hasbro hasn’t released yet cause that way we’re more likely to preorder considering only 1 or 2 figures of these characters are available right now. And SS hasn’t been revealed yet.

I honestly think they might be based on the Legends figures. Demolishor here transforms exactly like his Legends toy

Even Devastator's face looks off. I know he's supposed to be ugly but it's an ugly take on the design
