If they sacrifice a mode so heavily, what's the point in having it transform. Just make a super articulated, and more stable limbed figure. People would buy it. And could shoot themselves in the, smaller than should be, foot due to said shortcuts.

The tiny scavenger wheels and longhaul lego technic poles all down his shoulders and arm. For the higher price tag, isn't really good enough.

Fancy paint doesn't make it better.

It's almost like they got to a point and then did a hasbro and said "that will do". Maybe they decided to start finalising and stop devolving once the ss one was announced. Maybe if they had continued working on it, it might have been better.

At $700....,probably nearer £900 to get to the UK,shortcuts should be non existent.

Except it does trick a LOT of people. Some people think toyworld is the most amazing company in the world just because they throw buckets of paint at their figures.

I’d much prefer a well proportioned and well molded figure over a well painted one. I can do that myself but I can’t remold or reengineer a figure. Just my opinion but I agree with you.

These are really quite cool regardless of accuracy, but they are way just way too expensive next to the usual $80-$125 combiner part to dip in on without having reviews and final copies of all the members. I'll be keeping this on my radar until that day.

The same goes with FT, people are easily amazed by paint and size.

If your priority is aesthetics, then yes paint goes a long way. If I had to choose between a 100% accurate bare plastic toy and a slightly inaccurate toy with a detailed paint job, you can bet your ass I'll go with the painted one.

Some people are less concerned with accuracy than others.

I take molding over paint every time because I can easily paint over a figure. what I can't do, however, is add sculpting or transformation steps to a figure.

I prefer something that's fun to play with, preferably with good posing action.

I like no paint, and an amorphous blob of plastic.

This all day. I can paint a figure if it's underdone. But if the toy takes short cuts or has boring detail, that's harder (or flat out impossible) to fix.

I get not everyone can paint. But unless your Dr. Wu, you're certainly not going to remold new parts to replace crappy looking ones, or add new engineering where it got lazily skipped.

And if you CAN do all that....you're also likely able to paint it anyway.

Of course, I prefer to sit in the camp of "why not both?" myself. :D

The cab/front comes off and hides the face of Devy. It attaches to the back of Mixmaster on the mixer assembly.

The SS version is lame, It's like they came up with a cool Devastator Prototype, couldn't figure out how to pull it off, so they just gave up and focused on the individual bots only.

That’s what happens when you have a budget restraint. I mean it should be a given they would have more problems than figures who have no budget limits.

not to mention safety requirements from a mass-release catered to kids at a lower price point.

    SS Devastator:

    SS Devastator WAS Horrible
    Mistransformed at the Convention Pictures.

    No...Overload was Mistransformed.
In Addition to that, they did not even have their real Color, just that ugly Blue Prototype Color.

Of Course it looks horrible when Mistransformed and with Blue Stupid Color everywhere.

So far, SS Devastator is really accurate
when you compare it to the CGI Image
    Rampage, Longhaul, Scavenger
The Figures in Hand ARE Picture accurate.

    transformers-movie-studio-series-rotf-devastator-bundle-mockup_1024x1024.jpg

So there is no Reason to Judge that Project now. Wait for the entire CORRECT Combined Form.

    Back to Devil Saviour;
So far, People seem to love it

ShowZStore is again Sold out on
    Mixmaster and Scavenger

If you ask for more, maybe they can add some. That is what i did, when i wanted to PreOrder my 2 Units of Scavenger.

But the wait for Rampage, Hightower and Scrapmetal Left Arm is also Killing me.

They must be awesome Bots, just like the first ones.

The big Question is: Will Rampage
    have Red or Yellow Paint?

Not an excuse, plenty of other figures from the same line look amazing.

And I repeat the invidual bot modes are great. Its the combined mode thats lame. Its a shame they couldnt nail all three modes.
