Nearly 1K for a set that\'s shown up in almost every way by the official? HAHAHAHAHAH no.
You mean Movie-HFTD scale, right? DOTM definitely did not have the same scale as ROTF
Anyway I wish that scale point would see more 3P figures like Firage. No cool if the only thing in trilogy scale are Autobot cars, Prime, and Decepticon cars. What about Brawl, Bonecrusher, Blackout, Soundwave, the Dreads, etc.?
imo Scrapper is the worst until now
Touché. Even though DOTM did have some of the original scale still. I would be happy if more figures came out in that scale too but I know it's a dream. An inscale Jetfire or scavenger would be huge even in studio series scale.
A 1/32 scale Soundwave and Dreads would be a dream! There are plenty of Brawls that fit the scale and DF Bonecrusher looks great next to ROTF leader Prime but I agree that it would great to see more
This Mixmaster seems to be about right, everyone else is much too small at the moment (shame as I'd love a good sized longhaul)... hopefully Scrapper also fits, his vehicle mode would only need to be a little larger than MM.
Not so impressed with most of them but that Scrapper looks pretty badass, even just as a stand-alone toy.
Knowing these are (roughly) MP scale does make me at least a little intrigued, although I'm pretty sure one of the 4th party companies will do improved OSKOs of the Studio Series set for a fraction of the cost
Also, some of these mining vehicles are MASSIVE in real life... my guess is they aren't all in the same scale, internally, and at least some of the larger vehicles are scaled to Studio Series
you have seen the official right?
For sure, once Hasbro finishes off their set I to am positive we will see the inevitable KO OS of theirs as well. It's nice to have options.
Love the look, but the price tag of these guys but the price tag is gonna stop it before it starts.
I think I'm officially dropped out of getting the set based on the price and Scrapper here. Everything is just so wrong about him
I'll see what they do with Rampage because I want him and a Demolishor most
Hey Hasbro, show us your version!
Don't think we've gotten a price estimate for the set as a whole yet, and pics for demolisher/scavenger are already out and have been for a while.
Tbh, scrapper is actually the weakest of the constructicons, but its clearly evident that what devil savior is trying to go for is an extremely accurate combined form.
Lets just hope the "wrecking balls" actually come with Hightower, since there's no indication that they came with overload.
They are really in a hurry to get this out before the much cheaper SS toys arrive, aren\'t they?
How big will these be, anyway? I have yet to see them compared with non-third party toys whose size I actually know.
The harpoons look nice (did he have them in the movie? I only recall the hand turning into a ball and chain mace) but the robot chest and head don\'t look great, and the rear wheels seem to have been sacrificed for the arm mode to not even roll. Didn\'t the alt mode have 6 wheels, btw?
I just wanted to ask about the price... WTF? 1000$???
And will theirs have 8 figures too? 'Cause until the SS toy introduced Scrapmetal he was never really a thing other than some art designs.
I have 4 of them and they are awesome. Love transforming them, they are a lot of fun and cleverly designed, especially Rampage and Long Haul.
And this is coming from me, who frankly hates most Bayformers designs. But I had a soft spot for movie Devastator from the get-go, I have the Legion toy who is amazing.
Demolishor should be 3 or 4 times bigger to be MP scale.
Not having to deal with QC, QA, breakage tests, and likely using some chinese sweatshop that works for a dime helps a lot in getting third party products out fast.
That has been tried before, and....
...the less said, the better
To be fair, Hasbro has some terrible QC. The MP Soundwaves they churned out fast as TRU exclusives? My Buzzsaw was painted so quickly that it fused the tail fin shut and literally snapped when I tried to transform it. That's not only terrible QC, it's also a major choking hazard for kids.
Then there's the terrible floppiness in their non-pinned Generations toys! You shouldn't pay $20 and have to repair the toy straight out of the package. I've had some TR toys break while stored in a box, but that clearly has nothing to do with poor quality plastics. My TR Brainstorm snapped off his wings because of the weak hinge plastic that held the wings in place! Again, the small plastic pieces produced are a clear choking hazard!
So when you say "not dealing with QC, QA"... I think you forgot to say that Hasbro has not really been dealing with it lately, either! And since we don't have these toys in-hand, it's impossible for you to make the claim that these 3P Devy's will have bad QC. Nor do you know how they were manufactured, so relying on China tropes to assume things is really bad. China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and labor costs are going UP. I think if they could churn these out in sweatshops, they would lower the price to sell more units (i.e. go for mass appeal, rather than niche, rich!).
I have seen 3Ps treat customers with more respect (i.e. replacement parts for free) than Hasbro, so it's unfortunate to see some people make broad assumptions and attack these guys, when all they want to do is provide a better product. And to be even more fair: without the pressures from 3P, Hasbro would have never made combiners or so many MP toys. For all we know, this 3P Devy may be so impressive as to inspire some future Hasbro designs (you've seen the Hasbro interviews where employees have 3P toys in the background, on their shelves/desk? ).
But this is not meant to offend you. I'm talking to haters in general, not you specifically. I grabbed your comment because it was the most recent, not to specifically argue or make you feel bad! I don't think your comment was all that hateful anyway.
pretty damn much. Comparing a $1,000 3rd party figure to a $250 official? Come on people. They don’t need comparing and shouldn’t be.
does this look nice? Sure! But it also looks like something we’re gonna he hearing about it breaking or the combined mode is an unstable mess not unlike I think it was toyworlds Dinobot combiner that looked amazing and stable until until the final figure came out and became just so unstable. Two people I know first hand invested so much into that thing and their happiness disappeared when they completed him.
maybe I’m jumping to conclusions but this thing...I’m interested in first hand impressions when it’s completed because a first time group making something so bold doesn’t sound so promising. Just looks like it’s all going to come crumbling apart attempting to put it together especially being a 3rd party.
Easy to say 3rd parties customer service is better when a group only turns out half a dozen figures a year and has the ability to give you a replacement because it’s one of the few they make at a time because you manhandle your toys too much and break them.
For a company like hasbro that turns out over a thousand toys a year? Yeah sorry, go get another one off the shelf if you break your toy.
I’m actually now wondering, you’ve made it very clear that you hate third party with a passion (even more clear here) so......
