Nothing so far on release dates. There were a few color mock ups in the thread somewhere and they look quite nice.

The robot modes don't really hold up as well as I would like, so I might just get this for Devastator only and hope the individual components get legit non combining MPM figures. After seeing two versions of these guys as triple changers, I'm not convinced they could de done this way without compromising significantly on robot mode accuracy and scale.

 

Yeah the bot modes aren't solid, but I'm very enthousiastic about its potential combined mode compared to the atrocious studio series version.

The opinion excuse. I'm not gonna tell someone who pretends 2007 movie leader Optimus is more movie accurate than last year's movie masterpiece version that he's right because of "opinion". We're in a world where people get their feelings hurt as soon as there's negative criticism about some commercial product they love.

I had a wait and see attitude towards studio series devastator. I'm never gonna spend 50 bucks a bot, totaling something like 400 bucks for something that looks absolutely average at best when there seems to be an excellent alternative for the combined mode.

edit: And yes, I seriously hope I'm wrong and it's so mistransformed that the combined mode will end up being much more movie accurate. Because the only alternative is the bombushee version with its lame robot modes and steeper price.

 

All anyone is saying is that it's not really fair to compare either yet given neither has actually been fully shown off. (if you count that Paris pic as a finished ss devy, then at that point your actively against ss devy no matter the looks) no one says anything on the accuracy, nothing, just that it ain't fair to compare two bot modes that haven't been fully shown off or released.

Yeaaaaah, it's easy to make the awesomest TF figure in the universe look like shit if you mistransform it that badly. The arms are switched, two of them are unfinished prototypes, he's standing straight up instead of being hunched over, mixmaster doesn't even seem to be connected as @tonysandlin pointed out, and who even knows what other errors they made since none of us own half the set still?

Sooo your "wait and see" attitude doesn't extend to actually seeing the finished product with hasbro, but with Bombusbee you'll say it's definitely excellent based on some incomplete CGI renders of less than half of the 8 figures combined?

 

Get me all the figures on ebay at that price and prove me it's a fact.

My wait and see attitude consists in waiting until we have more renders or pics of the actual figures when it comes to bombusbee. The torso looks fantastic, it's the most important part of the figure. But they really need to up their game because the robot modes are just plain disappointing next to their SS counterparts. Maybe that's why we don't have much news lately, who knows.

If you're in the US/Japan/some other places, yes. Otherwise, it can be nearly twice the price per figure since they are not officially released but imported instead.

In Europe we've been screwed with releases for the past few years. They didn't even release the leader class figures for the past two movies where I live...
