Wonder if we'll see DS-06 Sweeping before Christmas or not? Would be nice to have "The Beast" standing on both legs by year's end.

I wish you and your partner all the best! I also hope you enjoy Split once you get home :D

With any luck, DS-06 will release by November. I hope we can get the full Devastator by 2022 but I doubt DS-05 will drop by then.

Much appreciated! But no split when I got home an hour ago.... it's said "arrived at the delivery company" here in NY for four freaking days now! Let's hope he shows up tomorrow.

EDIT: Screw Fedex they said it would arrive friday then friday night it updated to tuesday. The package was IN NYC then they sent it to Pennsylvania and THEN are shipping it BACK to NYC they make no fucking sense.

Paranoider/Bomber set already on sale at TF-Direct for those who were on the fence. 10% off so $90: DEVIL SAVIOUR TROUBLE MAKER DS-07A PARANOIDER + DS-07B BOMBER

OK finally received and opened my Split (was enjoying SS Jolt for a few days first).

The short review is this: Fuck this robot mode. Nothing stays tabbed in, there are so many little bits that move when you move other things, the backpack constantly flops down, the figure CAN'T STAND UP at all (legs are very weak, and one of them was detached right in the box), those stupid gun pieces pop off the backs of the legs so often I just set them aside, and the proportions aren't even that good. I can totally understand why people were turned off to this whole set from the get-go. The legs/feet are tiny and can't hold the weight of the figure at all. The robot mode sucks ass. I'm working up the courage to try the transformations, and I'm desperately hoping the other modes make me happy in some way. The only upside so far is the paint is amazing (but we all knew that) and he's actually bigger than I thought he'd be (bigger than Smash, which is weird).

I'd give it a 4/10 on the robot mode so far. Hoping the other modes are way better.

Yeah it’s not a super fun figure to handle. If you can get the guns to stay tabbed into the legs, it can stand up alright. There’s a couple of other things you can try to get it to stand better.
    1. Detach the cab via the mushroom peg
    2. Use the cab to support the figure from the back

    Hope that helps a bit!

Thanks for the tips. I've known about those tips for a while before getting the figure, but I don't think I'm gonna keep it in robot mode much after today. We'll see. Still appreciate you posting tips.

Essentially yes, but way less fun in robot mode, but also with much better paint.

Just cause I don’t like the figure doesn’t mean I can’t take some pics!

Very nice shots! I wish I was that creative with photography. FYI—the instructions never mention it, but the wheel wells can peg into his heels in robot mode. I only noticed after watching Jobby's review for the third time. :lol

There is a dumbbell-shaped cover piece at Split's crotch in robot mode that will not stay attached. Am I not pressing hard enough, or should I glue it?

It always seems to fall out, and it doesn't really need to come out for any reason. Might as well glue it in.

Thanks! I actually noticed last night while watching Emgo's just transform it video (the only videos of his I watch cause he doesn't talk and does a good job showing the transformation). BTW I transformed him to vehicle mode and had a horrible time. I really hated the transformation! Cab part was easy and fun but the mixer.....so incredibly annoying, and after a couple hours it STILL doesn't come together perfectly. One side was easy but the other side, no matter what I do it won't go straight, and it's almost impossible to see what you're doing wrong cause you can't see inside the mixing drum! I'm gonna attempt head mode tonight then as others have said he may never be transformed again...

These past few days I've been applying joint tightening solution to my 3p figures. It takes roughly about 4hrs to fully dry so Split's been standing on my desk after applying some on his legs and shoulder joints for quite some time now. Literally less than 20 mins ago an earthquake occurred some kilometers south of here and our house shook.

Dude's still standing with no support. What the hell.

I bought it from a local shop here in Manila.

Extra Split pics showing how I transform his back to distribute his backpack
20210927_014740.jpg 20210927_014725.jpg 20210927_014654.jpg *My copy has a minor issue of rusting in his screws.

    Minor mods that I applied:
    • Shaved the tab that holds the cab on his back
    • Shortened the circular tabs that hold his legs in truck mode and his front wheels in head mode
    • Shaved the and tabs on the side of the guns and the slots for them

I also did a series of photos to show how I transform Split from robot to truck mode, it takes me about 6 to 8mins to do this conversion. I hope these will be able to help.
    1. Straigten the legs as shown and rotate the cab, but don't compress the cab into position. 20210927_015127.jpg
    2. Rotate the lower thighs outward at the mushroom peg before the silver parts; fold down the knee spikes; and untab the fender from the heel. 20210927_015257.jpg
    3. Swing the hips outward at 90° and bend the main knee; straighten the fender assembly as shown and bend the ankles at about less than 90°. 20210927_015441.jpg
    4. Compress the legs using the hinges after the actual knees. 20210927_015505.jpg
    5. Start with one leg, rotate the whole leg assembly a bit until you have enough clearance to flatten the feet and rest the fender assembly beside the wheel. 20210927_015531.jpg
    6. Step 5 in progress for the next leg. 20210927_015548.jpg
    7. Both legs completely folded but at different angles to account for clearance for the heels. 20210927_015602.jpg
    8. Can compressed and the legs are hooked together. 20210927_015628.jpg
    9. Make sure to hook the hinge of the fenders into place in front of the hinges for the side panels and that the two circular tabs below the cab are tabbed into the legs. 20210927_015731.jpg
    10. Tab the fenders in and make sure everything fit together nicely. 20210927_015755.jpg
I will try to share the mixer portion later.

    Edit:
    1. Start with this configuration for the arms. The L-shaped thingy pointing upwards relative to the head; make sure that the hinge connecting the upper mixer to the shoulder is extended perpendicularly; and the rest of the arms are straightened. The side panels of the chest should be folded back/down for clearance, use the double hinge inside the chest to swing it down. 20210927_015901.jpg
    2. Rotate the whole arm assembly such that the L-shaped things are pointing forward. 20210927_020017.jpg
    3. Focus on one arm. Bend it at the inner shoulder as shown, move the mixer shoulder pads if needed. 20210927_020124.jpg
    4. Check if the alignment of the hinge between the shoulder and the mixer panel is parallel. 20210927_020137.jpg
    5. Rotate the arm to so that the wheels are facing outside. 20210927_020157.jpg
    6. Open the lower panel of the mixer half. 20210927_020212.jpg
    7. Bend the elbow at both hinges, make sure to align the slot in the lower mixer panel before the next step. 20210927_020244.jpg
    8. Compress the elbows until the lower mixer half hooks to the main half of the mixer snugly, make sure that the elbows still rest in the slot, compress the sliding joint to finish this half of the mixer. 20210927_020319.jpg
    9. Aligning the mixer panel isn't enough, compress the arms until the large rectangular tab in the forearms slot in. Male sure that the panels on the other side is still connected while doing this. 20210927_020335.jpg
    10. Finished arm and mixer half. 20210927_020411.jpg
    11. Repeat steps 3 to 10 on the opposite side, make sure both arms are folded in completely. 20210927_020518.jpg
    12. Once both arm assemblies are finished, tuck the folded cannon in the cavity of the mixer. 20210927_020659.jpg
    13. Slot in the locks halfway. 20210927_020722.jpg
    14. For clearance, you can extend the upper panels of the mixer, the mixer halves connect in three places: and 2 small angled circular tabs on the ends and a large rectangular tab in the middle. 20210927_020814.jpg
    15. Tabbed halves. Follow the manual for the last few steps concerning the underside. Make sure that the series of hinges connecting the back to the cannon rest on top of the arms when viewed from the bottom. 20210927_020840.jpg
    16. Finished truck mode. 20210927_021049.jpg

I must have gotten lucky, my Split was not that bad. He had some loose joints that I tightened up with some superglue, but most things worked smoothly and the guns tabbed into the backs of the legs decently well. I actually found the conversion to vehicle pretty enjoyable ngl, more so than some Studio Series figures (Studio Series Scavenger, to name one). I might just be weird but honestly for me Split wasn't too bad.

I'd rather transform SS Scavenger ten times in a row than do split. But hey! I'm glad you enjoy the transformation! The figure just needed to be 10% less complex. Any time there are too many hinges and swivels and tiny tabs and it all needs to be positioned perfectly or else it doesn't work I get frustrated. I actually think there's a lot that SS Mixmaster did better than this one, but of course they're two different animals.

I suppose I could just enjoy the complexity yeah, to each their own as they say.
