It looks like they changed the face a bit from the earlier prototype, but I can't quite tell if it's the sculpting or just the paint. Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on him. compresor heads.png

These are great photos of DS-03, they really look like fully finished product shots. Hopefully release will be next month or Feb maybe....

Cannot wait for Compressor! This set is frankly spectacular. Yes they're delicate and complex but they surpass masterpiece standard with paint apps and accuracy.

The wheels look almost identical to those on Smash.

    Man, that guy looks great.

Sadly, I decided to go with the Hasbro version, as Target had them for $30 when they first came out (pre-street date, but a buddy of mine convinced a store rep to override. Yay $30 leader figures!) and since buying all of them/combining them was never a goal for me, I'm pretty good with him.

But this does look awesome. I'll be watching for pictures as people get him in once he ships out. The guy definitely has a lot of presence.

I'm still in for Landslip, though. :D

This is so cool. Compresor, Landslip and Split really take it to the next level for me. Can't wait for the rest of them!

No video of Smash & Compressor combined.... or pics of them beside each other in vehicle mode.

Compressor looks good, but all of these figures so far look like big chugs. None of them exude "Masterpiece" energy

    Whut?

Well... to each his own I guess...

But what do you need for something to be MP then? The paintapps, aesthetics and transformations all look MP style to me. Only the scale is questionable.

That's probably intentional to preserve the stability of the combiner. Bayverse characters get that "Masterpiece" look by having a lot of greebles and small parts, which don't lend themselves well to supporting a lot of weight.

I find the sacrifices to be reasonable. Nobody has made proper high-budget figures of the Constructicons before to take notes from, and Devil Saviour chose to focus more on the combiner than the accuracy of the individual bots. I would love to see the characters done justice with non-combining figures if some company decides there's a big enough hole in the market. A 6-pound Masterpiece Scavenger and a spider Overload would be a sight to behold.

You're not. Influence in conversion and combination is clearly there.

Honestly I think the two are too different to really compare. It's like the difference between a cyberverse figure and a WFC figure. Which one you should buy depends on what you're looking for.
