We're at least three reveals in and one bot in hand and I still say these don't outdo the Studio Series versions. Perhaps the gestalt will, but individually these are kind of meh IMHO.

Yeah, individually they are what they are so anyone after movie accurate bot modes isn’t impressed but this thing is all about the combined mode for me So, as long as it can actually hold its own weight, there’s no contest.
Oh man, we’re still sooo far away from actually having this become Devastator.

Don't worry, I felt the same about SS Devvy at one point and now we're only a couple more months away from having a real combining rotf Devastator!

I think the main problem with Devil Saviour is that they don't bribe reviewers

Once companies do that, the toy quality gets a lot better instantly

And most of these 3Ps share the same factories, too. So it's a take-turns kinda deal.

I'm sure that was calculated though.

Is there any chatter regarding who this company really is or who they are affiliated with? This seems like a really ambitious effort for a company's first attempt.

Some people (who will not be named, for their own protection) foolishly believe that it's TFEVO

Well to each to their own i guess.

    Personally i paid 600 TL for DS Split. SS Mixmaster would cost me about 275-350 TL if it even released in my country. Transformers are not cheap or common toys by any means outside USA you know. Comparing them, DS Split;

    - is twice as big,
    - looks like hand painted by a goddamn artist,
    - is a legit quadrouple changer with Cannon included
    - has an excellent looking and well articulated combiner mode,

Versus Hasbro's trademark grey plastic. For me, there is no contest. So what his hip wheels are loose? It is nothing compared to all the beauty of this thing.

Sorry what currency is TL and how much is that in US dollars? I like learning about other currencies and conversion rates.

Scrapmetal forms the Upper forearm of Devastator in wich Hightower connects. then the small excavator wich some people (myself included) call Buckethead, connects to Hightower forming the hand. the small set of treads are Scrapmetal's

That's the way I see it too, although it bends my mind to think of Scrapper as the size of all three of them combined.

Something I've considered for a long time is the possibility that Devastator can be formed with variable components---not just Demolisher/Scavenger or Rampage/Skipjack, but different amounts of robots. This could explain why he's sometimes depicted without Overload, or Payload, or Buckethead and/or Scrapmetal, although there is then the problem of limbs being out of proportion to one another---if Hightower is the only robot comprising the left arm, then it would be considerably smaller than the right. But if Scrapper is left out, Buckethead and Scrapmetal may then replace him and the gestalt ends up with shorter arms. Or for instance, if we accept that Devy's face is formed by Scavenger, then it may be possible that Mixmaster could be omitted at the cost of the vortex grinder.

Just some theory crafting, and something fun to think about, since we really don't know how combiners work in Bayverse.

Isn't this something that hasbro themselves said a long time ago? That they're basically a mass-produced army which is why you see them in other scenes or even in dotm, and that they can combine in pretty much any way with any number of them. This is such a cool idea that of course was never in the movies themselves, leaving 99.9% of viewers just scratching their heads.

I hadn't heard of that! It makes a lot more sense than the other idea that's been floating around about some of them being non-combining drones. If you could find a source I'd be much obliged.

Honestly I've just heard it from people on the boards. But I've heard it from multiple people over multiple years. Can anyone else help us? I think it was a hasbro rep at a convention or something. Not a 100% canon source but as good as we're gonna get for a half-baked idea.
