Bold Forms defiitely wins with the Motormaster. It's a shame they can't be the same size and use the same connectors. Then Bold Forms could just release Motormaster and that one limb Hasbro made into a truck, and we could use the Hasbro toys for the other limbs. ;-)

Ugh! They both look horrible. Splattering greeblie lines everywhere cannot hide bad design!

If Bold forms did away with all that detailing on the chest, it would look a lot better. The detailing actually spoils it IMO, as it looks too busy and cheap.

Whoa... there is a LOT of similarity there. Very strange. They almost look like slightly different stages of the same toy.

In a perfect world, all combiners would be compatible! But yeah... BF could manage their losses by only doing a Motormaster and Wildrider that are compatible with Hasbro. But based on what we've seen, this 3P version will be a hard sell over the official one.

Both ugly, but Hasbro much uglier.

Sooo they are making an incredibly G1 Motormaster with a very clean animation look...And follow that up with a gangly Breakdown who has tech detailing everywhere?

If Bold Forms was smart they'd wait until Generations Menasor set gets released, make the combiner connectors compatible with those figures, and offer up an upgrade to make the HasTak set more G1 accurate. That would sell like gangbusters, I'd imagine. Going full G1 with their MM and then following up with a fast and loose interpretation of Breakdown is just an odd strategy to me, and one that doesn't really work.

Wow those 2 designs have a lot in common...... Almost as if the bold forms design is what we were supposed to get before budgeting made the Hasbro release what it currently is.

Yeah agreed. Too bad, I was liking their Motormaster, but this is a let down. You know a 3P product is pointless when it's indistinguishable from the Hasbro equivalent.

Ah well, hopefully there'll be another 3P Stunticon set along any day now

I'm confused now. Motormaster is MP scale, and Breakdown is deluxe?

    This 100%

If your limbs bots only look a bit nicer instead of way freaking better than the way cheaper Hasbro offer then better to just go for a torso release. Safer and faster option.

It could make sense, potentially. If they prioritized Menasor and it looks right in that mode then the size difference could make sense. I know it will make enemies out of the ones who are bigger on the individuals, but will make the combined only people happy. Different companies have different priorities. We need more info before we can give a final judgement. Plenty of time for snap judgements until then though.

Motormaster stand a bit shorter than a crouching MP10, which means he probably measures up with Toyworld Orion or iGear Faith Leader.

Paint scheme way too TFC-ish: little random bits of color all over. Hasbro did MUCH better color-wise-----simple large blocks.

Also----that's in the annoying "Countach-ish but not a Countach" category. Really, if you're making unlicensed toys----why not go all the way? I mean, BMW lost their case for 1:1 copies of their cars in China---I doubt Audi-Lambo would win for 1/50 scale...

I love their Motormaster, and I really like the fact he scales perfectly with MP-10. Even more so the fact that he looks so G1 cartoon in his design, he fits the aesthetic of the Masterpiece line. Then we see Breakdown here and he's very busy and cluttered with unneeded detailing all over him. Such a disappointment. I was hoping they'd do them all to the tune of Motormaster.

Maybe it's the fact the hasbro version will cost a fraction as much?

All that recessed detailing on the chest and arms looks really bad.

This looks terrible. The tiny hips are the worst, above the larger thighs. I hope the biceps aren't as thin as they look. Maybe it's because the shoulders have sculpting farther forward than the piston biceps. The waist swivel also looks strange being so low, instead of being where the blue part turns to a white part.

How do you know it's not a Countach? We only have the bot mode pic.
