Not a big collection, but thought that this was worth a show. MICHAELS craft store (up in Canada anyhow) is having a sale on their cases...50% off! So I bought one of their wood and glass cases with the mirror in the back....works nice for Soundwave or G1 cars sizes. Frenzy, RuMbLe and Overkill are originals Original G1 Prime mint complete (not re-issue), Jazz and MP Prime (oh, and 12" Dewback with Sandtrooper) Bugs and Transformers (I have Takara Reissue HOUND coming, and hopefully Encore Megatron to add soon) Kong vs. V-rex, 08 Camaro BB and Soundwave display.
Thanks! I have this case coming in the mail for my original G1 Prime. It's made for mini helmets, but is the perfect size for a G1 Prime. I want to keep my Prime from dust damage and yellowing so I bought it because the glass is UV light proof. (awesome) Should look great.
That case works perfect with Soundwave and crew...also liking the classic movie pose you have your MP Pirme in...and then the kong statue looks pretty fantastic as well... But umm...the big spider on the wall has got to go...
No they are exclusive Beast Wars figures in their alt modes... the neat spider is Tarantulas Nice display though
Love the style in which you display everything and that Kong statue is sweetness. but, um, yeah...spiders...kinda gives me the heebee-geebees sweet stuff though! that display case looks great on the wood table too.
Hey thanks guys! The insects are for reference in my sculpting, plus I just like bugs a lot. (I'm weird I suppose) I ordered them from Thailand on the cheap. That Kong statue will always be held close to my heart, because it's my first sculpting competition award. Hehehe, thanks! Cool of you to notice. One of the best Prime moments ever.
That's nice that the case is UV proof, how much does it sell for? How good is it to protect color fading if an item is near a window?
BaronV- I got it off Ebay for $24.00 and $20.00 shipping. (on their site, the cases appear to be a lot more costly...so I recommend the Ebay route) UV protection-wise...next to a window? Your guess is as good as mine. I myself wouldn't put a TF near direct sunlight no matter what. I asked if it was designed to keep things from yellowing or fading and he said yes. It's a company that actually sells them. Check them out here... http://www.columbiasportscard.com/ Scotty
Thanks! The stand I used for MP Prime is exactly like these... You can find them at almost any craft store. I adjusted it to the height I wanted, then cut a piece of wood to ram in there to hold it in place. (because he's pretty darn heavy as those of you who have one can attest) Prime rests nicely in the stand because of the way his hips are built....nice and snug and no damage to the bot. (was sure of that before I decided to leave him in it) Scotty
Thanks. I'm a bit of a neatness freak, so I like to take the little I have and just make it look as good as I can. Just got my minty Takara Re-issue HOUND today.(Thanks CyclopianVision) I'm all smiles...wanted this one for a long time. Also stuck a copy of the Soundwave cover from Dreamwave on the wall next to the display for the Soundwave figure and cassettes... Thought Hound looked cool with the Spike that came with PVC Bumblebee standing next to it, since the scale is about the same. Then stuck an old plastic case I had lying around over it for dust protection... Closeup of Hasbro reissue Jazz with mint condition original Jazz's weapons I got on Ebay. (couldn't stand the elongated ones and no chrome) I have new set of reprolabels coming for the doors since they were damaged when I got it. (just cleaned the doors off and now they wait for the nice new stickers) Background is a bust that I sculpted, had molded/casted into resin, and then had professionally painted...
It's a nice collection you have and wonderful displayed too. Those pictures are really sharp. That pose of MP Prime is awesome. Your Transformers really fit well amongst your other collectibles like those Star Wars statues.
Thanks again all...and yes, I do need a RATBAT. Would really look great with wings spread sitting on top of Soundwave. I was bored this morning, so I took photos here and there from around the room. J4 Jenny Biplane (all metal...17 inch wingspan...I love the old planes) Since you guys liked the spider SO much...hahaha..I took a close-up. Bumblebee rocks... Corner of the room where R2-D2 sits...some of my 40 in box 12 inch Starwars figures sit beside him. (I'm hoping I can start selling them...too many and not enough storage room) Spoon cabinet that I converted into a figure case for my vintage Starwars figures. (Just removed the glass...painted it black, and replaced the glass...much better. Used to be a gross brown colour) My Indy poster. (Can't wait for the new film!) Troll Bust Andy Serkis autographed Gollum photo Prime..being Prime... That's it folks..I know it's not all Transformers, but thought some might care to see the rest of the stuff. .
I didn't see the pictures of the second page yet. Excellent idea. It looks very cool. And it protects Hound to dust the same time. Nice sculpt. That's some kind of crafting I really can appreciate.
