So, after they finish filming, I plan on avoiding all news about the movie until the film releases. That means no super bowl spot, trailers, Rotten Tomatoes reviews, TFW forums, anything. And walk into the film blind, having zero prejudgement. Its called the Blind Surprise Challenge to be entirely surprised when you see the film for the first time. Does anyone have the balls to join me?

 

I might start avoiding these forums but avoiding the trailers? I'll try avoiding the TV spots but I can't avoid the trailers, I'm too hyped. I just really hope they don't pull a BvS.

 

That's one of my motivations that is gonna help me get through this. I'm just thinking, I'd rather not watch all the trailers and get so hyped up and it turn out to be a bad film. I have a feeling this is gonna be the best Transformers movie, but I've been in situations where I've hyped things up to be the best, and they've turned out to be the worst. So I'm trying to use it as an excuse sort of. Just avoid the trailers and don't get too hyped because it may turn out awful, but on the other hand if its great it'll be a magnificent surprise having gone in blind.

 

I mean I'm already pretty much spoiled thanks to the joblo leak..although it doesn't mention barricade and his team, the TRF dudes, or just what the hell is going on with Hot Rod being here. I'll exclusively watch the trailers. TV spots and these forums I'm gonna avoid like the plague. I've learned my lesson after DOTM.

I too will watch trailers, and tip-toe through the forums . . . but that is a one hard challenge, when it comes to TRANSFORMERS.

 

I can't. There is no way. I'll avoid spoilers and most tv spots (especially the ones close to the films release) but the trailers and some tv spots and the forums. Nah I can't help myself.    

 

Well I already made up my mind that no matter what I would go see the film, just for Hot Rod. Doesn't matter how the film turns out for me, it'll just be nice to see Hot Rod finally get more acknowledgement considering all he's got at the moment in terms of media is the IDW comics and... ugh... Combiner Wars. Though the film being good would be a very nice bonus as well. Just like I did with my second viewing of AOE I will enter the film with an open mind.

I'd like to, but I don't trust the film to be good, so I need to know almost everything I can find out about the film, to try and determine if it's worth seeing.

 

Thanks man.   You're not too weak. In general, any task that is daunting, you just have to give it a try, and if you mess up forgivr yourself and continue on.  

 

I'll try not to watch every single TV spot and read every single spoiler this time around, but I wouldn't count on it. I hate surprises (particularly the bad kind), thus I like to prepare myself beforehand to insure maximum enjoyment in the theater. lol

I won't try to ignore new info, but I'm nowhere near as engaged with this one as I was with the AOE build up. Other than barricades return, nothing really interesting has cropped up yet, just the same old shit, and the Merlin crap has turned me off to it even more.

I guess once we start seeing trailers my enthusiasm will return.

 

Not true. Nothing has been the "same old shit". Thats a lie. New cars, new TRF, continuing the Knights theme from AOE, Optimus has barely been seen on set which definitely means he'll be in space a lot more, new group of Cons instead of mindless drones, kids added into the cast, Wahlberg with a sword, Lennox's badass is back and fighting alongside Cade, I could go on. Anthony Hopkins, an Oscar winning star, is in it. The film is being written by Iron Man writers. There is a lot of potential in this film, so much more than the others. You can hate the Merlin details all you want, but to say its the same old shit is a slap in the face to the changes Paramount and Hasbro are making. Even by looking at the poster art, you can see that there is Cybertron and it looks the same from DOTM. Continuity is definitely being taken into account here. So no, its not the same old shit. But you don't have to agree with the obvious.

The Last Knight (an obvious difference in the title alone).

 

I try to an extent. Dark of the Moon was the first movie I followed through production and I dug up info way too frivolously even though I didn't want to be spoiled. Ended up ruining Ironhide's death, Sentinel's betrayal and Soundwave being the Mercedes. I think the only time I felt unsure of what was going to happen was when Soundwave had his gun to Bumblebee's head. I was legit 80-85% sure they were actually going to kill him off, so the suspense for that was fun.

For Age of Extinction all was going well until the end. I watched a ton of TV spots but didn't see any during the last week or two which I'm glad I did. Unfortunately some idiot on here told everyone that Lockdown and Attinger died so that sucked.

This time around I'm trying to be more careful. I make YouTube videos on this stuff so I do have to follow things quite a bit but I'm going to be limiting myself toward the end to just official things. Going to leave the rumors and leaks alone. And I've learned my lesson: Do not come here and read the boards once the premieres begin or when rumors start to go around from people who saw it early.

Revenge of the Fallen was fun because I had no idea whatsoever what was going to happen. I only saw one trailer and maybe a couple TV spots that came on TV.

 

Out of everything you mentioned, the only intriguing thing that I hadn't thought about is the absence of Prime. Yeah, where is he?!.

I'm happy about some returning faces, but ultimately who cares, Lennox couldn't save ROTF etc.

The only thing the writers could come up was a shitty King Arthur tie in!

And you don't know the cons aren't drones. Onslaught might have 1 line and die, historically this is what happens.

Anyway I'm digressing. In probably in a good place, my indifference this time round might give the final product a bit more punch! (Assuming it's not actual crap!   )
