I'm currently throwing together a large combaticon display using the best representation of each character from available toys with limited customizing. I have:

    Onslaught - Henkei 2.0 Onslaught
    Brawl - TFTM Brawl
Vortex - TFTM Blackout or ROTF Grindor
    Swindle - ???
    Blast off - ???

They only need to represnt the alt modes, any suggestions for those 2? I'm stumped.

I agree with Animated Swindle. Besides the actual shuttle from Bruticus, I'm not sure there was another TF space shuttle. Super Go-Bots Spay-C, is probably your best bet (but you already knew that.....ha ha).

I'd go with Animated Swindle. No clue for Blastoff. But, you did say alt mode display right? What about Club Exclusive Astrotrain? That's my best guess.

Since you stated "limited customizing," I'm going to point out that both Universe Hound and Classics Astrotrain are easy repaints and minor, minor mods (if you choose) away from Swindle and Blast Off.

Yeah, but that would be WAY out of scale with the team that i'm building

Nice, I hadn't considered animated, that will work also. If i repaint anything it will be a g1 astrotrain, b/c i have an extra and it seems to actually be cheaper to replace if needed than the classics one somehow these days. thanks for the input, I guess if i want a blastoff, i'm going to have to make it.

Haha the very idea of the Combaticons laughs in the face of Scale though.

Blast-Off alone is both small enough to be a combiner limb and large enough to transport the entire rest of the Combaticons team :lol

But if you just want a huge spaceship, then Armada Jetfire/TFCC Astrotrain

Galaxy Shuttle. If you can find one for less than a million dollars.

I have seen a sig around here with a combaticons team in the same sense you are trying, and animated Swindle fits in suprisingly well for being a different asthetic. Can't remember who he used for Blast Off though.

perhaps it was mine??? LOL I used Animated Swindle and the new Jetblade figure. Sure it's not a great "Blast off" but I think he fits in nicely.

I think he'd actually make a nice Blast Off if he was repainted.

I have Animated Swindle near Uni. Onslaught and they look nice together despite being from different series.

True, to clarify (and if this makes sense), I want the display to be in scale with the g1 toys as much as possible, not looking for a majorly realisticly proportioned shuttle, TFCC Astrotrain (or Jetfire, or whatever) would be way too big, i want Onslaught to be the largest member of the display.

At this point astrotrain (g1 or classics) painted seems to be the best option, but I guess I can't fault Hasbro for not making a ton of "way too small" shuttle molds...
