What was it based on? Something valid like the CG looking pretty bad in places (have been reading that a lot), or another racist buffoon intentionally trying to start shit?
He felt that it didn't have enough action sequences and lacked humor too much. He still gave it a 3/5.
Jesus, that's all he said? An honest critique, but still, the deranged turbo nerd "fans" strike again.
Here it is Black Panther first review: 'It is expected to stand for something bigger than itself - the strain is visible' - Independent.ie But from here Black Panther spirals into a stodgy tale of internecine feuding, in which T’Challa is required to come to terms with the sins of past generations. What he doesn't get to do much of is jump around beating-up bad guys. That’s a shame. Marvel has finally given us an African superhero. The hope surely was that he would be allowed do superheroic things.
Well I mean, Black Panther isn't the kind of hero running around beating people up, he is a king first. Mostly it's a villain who starts a fight, not him. BP doesn't really look for a fight, he just prepares for one.
I believe Sony because they're using him in Silver Sable's and Black Cat's movie. But I'm pretty sure Marvel can partner with Sony to use him just like Spiderman.
Twenty years ago I would have been amped for Black Panther as he was one of my favorite characters in the Avengers, not because he was black , I just thought he was cool. Fast forward now and everything about this movie is about race and not that T'challa was a pretty cool character. Reading that reviewer it was evidently supposed to have some message, you know besides him being a super hero.
I really don't want this movie to have what I call the "Wonder Woman Syndrome" where politics skew reviewers' opinions. Anyways, I just sat through the movie's official album and I really like it. For a rap album at this day and age, I really appreciate the production value.
Yeah that's too bad. This is gonna be a Wonder Woman situation all over again - where the people with legitimate critiques about the movie that have nothing at all to with gender this or race that will get flippantly labeled as something they're not by overly defensive fans and/or internet warriors that like to jump to conclusions. Hopefully that doesn't spill over to THIS forum too much once people start posting their reviews.
I think that could have worked out well. Kraven could be this supervillain big-game hunter/poacher that TChalla could face in a fight, then Kraven decides to head to New York to hunt down another man-animal dude.
