KO OS of the deluxe Sidearm Sideswipe

But. But the Studio Series deluxe was just revealed earlier today.

So a Sidearm KO seems instantly obsolete?

 

I'm just happy to have more MPM carbots. If I really want that SS mold, I can sit tight and wait for KBB or WeiJiang.

 

Keep in mind that we have no confirmation Studio Series Sideswipe is actually as good as he looks. He could have some invisible devastating flaw and we'd never know until he comes out, in which case this thing will be very welcome.

That said, I don't actually care much for this thing anyway. The only change is he has less of the fender on his arm, which is accurate, but makes the vehicle mode just barely too panely for my taste. If the panels are as tight as Beast Hunters Smokescreen's fender-to-bumper connection and he stays the original size, then sure, but if either of those two doesn't happen, I'll stick to my official Sidearm Sideswipe.

EDIT: Okay, he actually has two other changes: the rear fenders are now articulated and the backpack folds up better. I don't care for the latter mod, but I'll have to look into doing the former for the original Deluxe. Looks like it's just a new hinge system, shouldn't be impossible.

 

Well well well. Now this is pretty sudden. But welcomed either way. I never managed to get the original mold, so i most likely getting this.

 

Just looking at the feet on Studio series, it's likely this will continue to be the very best version ever produced (unless of course MPM really gets it right).

Don't get me wrong, SS looks nice and I'll definitely get it, but so far Takara Sidearm (with the feet configured properly) and shapeways blades blows everything else out there away by a wide margin.

Plus this is MP size. Unless MPM shows me something to be truly crazy over before this releases, I WILL get this. I hope they add some blades though. It's Black Mamba, so i'd be surprised if they don't.

If blades are added and it is legit mpm scale, i'll be down for this seeing how an official MP is more than likely a few years away at the current pace of getting through characters.

 

I loved Sidearm Sideswipe so much.
I likes the back pack, those back panels that shot straight up, the goat legs... and most important the feet.

It looks like Black Mamba is taking all the things I loved about that figure and removed them.

I hope they could include gun and blade weapons

 

Hope this relaxes the ridiculous aftermarket values on Sidearm Sideswipe.


(AND doesn't include the stupid flame decals the US release went with).

 

Cool! Hope he comes with at least some attachable arm blades

Looks good. A little on the small side compared to MPM BB but looks good. Seemed to have improved upon an already fantastic mold of Sidearm SS. Lets just see how they paint it  

 

The SS looks great.... Until you see the back kibble...yeeeesh. he's got the whole front of the car on his back.

 

yes please include the guns and im all in on this. love the original mold.

 

For what it is, it's okay (just a KO with minor changes), but Sideswipe could do with more potential. Glad the new SS reveal seems to cover the DOTM front at least

And this coming from Black Apple, I expected more tbh
