Costume isn't the greatest, but it's the logo that's truly pathetic.
It releases tomorrow.
It's already on Netflix in Japan. I almost started watching it last night but I got vetoed.
On the light side, it seems the show is gonna be a hit.
'Black Lightning' delivers a jolt of reality to CW's superhero lineup
It's okay, we'll watch it eventually. My wife likes the Flash (and she likes Arrow more than I do). It's just that there was something she'd been waiting to watch first. But I'm glad to hear early word for this show is good.
Why We Need a Black Lightning/The Flash Crossover
I'd rather have BL crossover with Supergirl and setup the Outsiders with Martian Manhunter, but if the show need to crossover with the main Earth, than it should be with Arrow and be a social issues hevery episode, like with the gun control/violence episode, but forcing on race and police misconduct, becusce it would be true to the characters and give a reason for why BL would travel to Star City, if he already lives on that Earth.
I'm very skeptical, but we'll see. The only reason I'm watching it is because it is going to be after Flash. Although, I wish they would just start the new iZombie season already. When is that starting?
It's official, this is my favorite DC CW show!
did they explain how he got his powers ?
Not yet, but they'll probably explain it in flashbacks or dialogue; they showed why BL and his wife got divorced and meantain why he became a hero in the first place and that he's not the only metahuman hero running around in the world.
All right, it was interesting. Already superior to Legends. I like that he was already a super hero and is a much older adult as opposed to a teenager/young adult hero. I wonder how much drama they will throw into the romance pot though. Also, is that James Remar that is playing his friend? He sounds it, but the glasses and mustache are throwing me off. The only thing I really did not care for was the rap music. Just because he's black does not mean we need to have the entire soundtrack full of rap music.
BL mention that he wants to get back with his ex-wife and his oldest daughter (Thunder) is a lesbian and her love interest, Grace Choi, will appear. Yeah, that was James Remar. Not all the music was rap and the show is probably doing with music what Luke Cage did.
Thunder was big in the Nightwing run Outsiders, and her sister Lightning was a JSA character. When she got her powers, if she touches any thing electronic it can short out all devices in a certain radius.
(Thunder is the blonde)
Though she got a better look and costume later
Lightning was also a character in Kingdom come
They both briefly appeared in cartoon shorts on cartoon network.
This show is just so good.
So far, I enjoyed it. Now, I see why it has the 9pm slot. The language is quite colorful and the situations are intense. I hope they keep the momentum going.
If they set up the Outsiders, it's gotta be with Batman.
Oh great, more lesbian romance? Is there a law now that states you have to have some sort of gay romance in every show? We already have it in Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends, we don't need it again just for the sake of it.
I want that, but Bats will probably be the only original member excluded.
Well they are lovers in the comics and we have more straight relationships in the other DC shows. I see no problem with more LGBT's in shows that already have multiple straight couples.
I liked it. A nice change of pace to have a hero come out of retirement instead of yet another show about a hero discovering their power and starting out on the hero road. It's also pretty cool that they seem like they will hit on social issues that the other CW superhero shows haven't dip that deeply into.
