This translation mentions nothing about being up-scaled / over sized. It should also be pointed out that this is not a KO prototype. BA is a customizer (as far as I know) and this is a one off. I also noticed that the comparison shots with Takara MPM-6 Ironhide strongly suggest that the hardware being used is the same size and thus the scale of the BA custom is the same scale as MPM-6. There are not a lot of points of reference because SO much has been modified but the screw holes and flight stand hole on the rear of the pelvis appear to be the same size. For that matter the rear of the pelvis looks to be an exact match. Also the hinged at the rear of the feet are using the same diameter pin. If this is up-scaled, this pin would appear to be thinner or they are using ridiculously thick hardware.

I am not ruling out that this may be up-scaled but at this time, I don't think it is. Personally, if this does go into production, I would much prefer they stick with the original scale to match Takara. That said, if this does get picked up by Wei Jiang as people suggest, they do up-scale KO and they will probably scale this to match their own (and I use the term VERY loosely wit KO) product.

    We shall see.

Ah fuck now I’m really thinking I’m gonna have to get the oversized prime if they’re all gonna be this good. I really prefer the scale of MPM 4/6/8 which is a little smaller, but they’re just becoming too impressive to ignore.

wasn’t BA’s OS Prime a remold of the original at first? i’m pretty sure there was a side by side with MPM and BA’s Prime being the same height

Black Apple always starts his customs on 1:1 scale, and then Wei Jiang upscales the design

I don't really know. I don't usually follow the OK scene. That said, BA has added SO much detail (just look at the ankle joint comparison and the hands have added individual fingers articulation) I can't rule out an up-scale. Also the Wei Jiang OS Blackout started off as a modified SS with no scale change.

The reality of having scaled MPMs of first movie Autobots by this time next year seems like a reality.

Honestly, while it is largely based on MPM-06, it looks as though they took some heavy inspiration in the chest area from the Studio Series. For example, the angle at which the hood locks in, the fact that it now separates into 2 pieces instead of 3, and the front wheel well area no longer lifts up to pull out the brake pad piece. It looks to flip out like the SS.

How tall is the official? As far as I can find, The official is 22cm. Mine is packed away so I cannot confirm.

Looks splendid, far far closer to the character design than either the MPM or SS.

I continue to hold out hope for an extremely accurate Starscream, which I don’t feel we’ve had yet

hmmm... an extra inch tall. I think that is going to be just too big for MPM-4/LT-02. I'm keeping an eye on this but more than likely I'm out due to scale. I'm not a scale junky but it doesn't look like it is even in the ballpark.

Yeah, it will scale like the leader's did if you went wirh this and the official MPM. Might not look bad in robot mode, depending on how much scale is an importance, but alt mode would look way off.

Yeah it definitely looks like hood/front wheel assembly is SS, roof, arms and cab are heavily modified MPM, and lower body is modified MPM. You can see the ports on the arms where the doors would have plugged in had they still been there.

I used an image translator too, however I tried to interpret the translations so that they make more sense

(Still couldn't figure out what "knock on the blackboard" means, is it a saying? Or Black Apple's inside joke?)

Wow, this is a massive improvement over the original!

This might actually be the 1st time I'd buy a KO.
So my main question is, how is the build quality from these guys?
