Finally watched the film after New Year's. It was fun, the JSA being the real attention grabbers for me. Intergang was actually a surprise for me.
I have no prior fandom or love for the character or the property and thank the gods because this movie was horrendous. Bad writing, bad acting, and bad story. The fight/action scenes weren't great save for a few. I am not sure there was a single redeemable thing about this movie. I went for it because I love comic book movies and I did know a tidbit about Black Adam just from the Justice League animated series. I was already of the opinion the MCU was blowing 90% anything live action DC has done out of the water and movies like this is another prime example why. EDIT: I was thinking about what/who I did like from this movie and I did like Pierce Brosnan/Dr. Fate.
This movie was a weird experience for me. It was dumber than a sack of hammers, and even then that might be unfair to hammers, but I can't deny I had a good time. Maybe it was the same principle as going to the Formula 1 on the off chance some poor bastard will peel off the track in a great ball of fire, but I'd watch it again. Pierce was the show stealer though, I'd watch a whole movie of his Doctor Fate.
Finally got around to seeing this. I actually enjoyed the Justice Society more so than I did Black Adam. The writing wasn't great, the story was cheesy, Dwayne Johnson was terrible in it if im honest, and it was overall just ok. However, it's actually one of the best DCU movies out there. If I'm comparing it to MOS, Aquaman, WW, WW84, I liked this one better.
