Compared to the last McDonalds Transformers toys, the Burger King Transformers One toys are made of a plastic I like a lot more, and they are sculpted with a lot of nice detail for their size. And size is something to consider with the vehicle Bumblebee of this collection. It is really small, even compared to other kid's meal toys. If only there was some play pattern in Transformers for Hot Wheels sized micro vehicles, with big playsets full of ramps... Anyways, I decided to get a few of these and paint them all different to fill my cityformers (if I had any). I like the sculpted detail but it's not very visible, and also the yellow plastic is thin enough in parts that the black under it is visible. For my first subject, I started with a can of silver. A lot of detail is now more visible already. I followed with yellow vitral paint. This one uses thinner and I don't have any at hand, and have never worked with it, so it accumulated at some parts, but I did my best to spread it with the brushes. It seems dry already, but instructions say to wait 24 hours for it to finish drying. After that I'll decide if I'll apply another layer, or start painting back the black parts. So, I'll guess I won't have any update of this until tomorrow at least. I started with three Bumblebees, but gave a sealed one to a friend, so for now I have two. Not to worry, as the collection is still available in restaurants, and I'm sure these will be very common in secondhand toy fairs.
Painted the second one the same as the first, now with blue vitral paint. I'm not satisfied with the result and will probably wait to use this type of paint again until I get some thinner. Painted the black parts with acrylic, and gave the color parts a black wash and colored dry brush. The black parts ended up with a texture very visible in photos, so next time I'll probably paint it all with spray paint instead. Everything was sealed with gloss clear spray. Now, I would place these around my Titan. If I had one! Meanwhile they can stay with other playsets.
