Well, it's more of...the post office's fault then lego. Ever since they started without the shrink wrap and put the comics on the outside, I've been missing a couple. Sometimes, I don't even get one. Well it kind of fits...didn't Tahu group went down to the swap? Anyways, went to the local TRU (the next closes one takes like an hour to get to)...no exclusive...anyone get the chance to pick one up? Preview pics? Also, anyone got an unbuild axonn set? I can try getting you a Brutaka set as a trade. $8 for one? No thanks, for an extra two I could get one of the main figures. I thought they would be like...$3-4 at most...
Unfortunately no. I have both an unopened Axonn & Brutaka, but they are mine. And my stores no longer have any of those titans, just the Mahri ones (Hydraxon, Gadunka, Maxilos). Does your area still have Toa Inika? I need a Jaller. ---------- On another subject, did you know the 2003 Makuta set has a Mask Variation? I have both Masks. One is a "correct" version and the other is an "error" version. If you happen to have the "error" version Mask, then you can still get the "correct" version Mask absolutely FREE directly from Lego. I'll post the info sometime later. I'm going to be very busy now.
Either he's talking about the regular VS movie accurate Kraahkans, or how some of the original masks had little holes in the sides plugged with plastic still. The movie edition mask isn't incorrect, its just another mold entirely. From left to right, Ultimate Dume's Kraahkan, Makuta of Metru Nui/Makuta Icaraxs' Kraahkan, and Takutanuva's movie edition Kraahkan- DN
I didn't know Dume's mask was a Kraahkan, I thought it was just an exclusive mask. I especially didn't know there were three versions! That reminds me, I wanted to post pics of my Toa Nuva mods. (Old Toa Nuva, not the new Phantoka ones)
Only the Ultimate Dume giftset mask was a Kraahkan (because "Ultimate Dume" in canon is just the Makuta of Metru Nui in a different body), Regular old Dume's mask was a Noble Kiril, the Noble Mask of regeneration- Which, while cast in the same shape, is NOT the same mask as Toa Norik's. His Kanohi was a Pehkui, the great mask of diminishment (i.e. shrinking). DN
^That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. A few of the Makuta masks produced by LEGO had 2 holes filled in with excess black plastic due to problems during the molding process. Certain sections of the mold for the mask where not syncing up together fully, and thus did not form all the holes in the mask. It's a fluke, but there were enough made that you either have the correct mask with all the holes present, or the incorrect mask with 2 of the holes completely filled in (in a very "clean" looking fashion where you might actually think they were meant to be filled in, but in actuality they are NOT meant to be filled).
IIRC, Norik's mask was crafted in honour of someone else who wore a Kiril, NOT Turaga Dume, though. Wasn't Toa Norik orignially designed to be Toa Dume? Or was that just a rumour? I still have that special edition set. I love it.
Both were just rumors, its already been confirmed by Greg Farshtey that Toa Nidhiki's mask looked nothing like Iruini's in terms of shape, and power. In fact, Nidhiki's mask of Stealth in canon is supposed to look more like Nuparu Mahri's mask of stealth, minus the gills and breathing apparatus. But you're right Splitz, Norik's mask is meant to honor a past Kiril wearing hero, but NOT Dume. DN
Wow...exclusives...make me angry. I can't even get some of the mass release ones... As for the Jaller, that's a definite no show. Last I saw was green, white, yellow. Everyone is so...in tune with the storyline.
Basically, here's the low-down in a nutshell... After the events in the first movie, after Vakama's story about his life as a Toa (yes, the entire Metru-nui/Hordika thing was all a story) everyone goes from the island Matat-nui down to Metru-nui, where they find Turaga Dume who tells them that Mata-nui (the spirit) is dying. The Toa Nuva head for Voya-nui in search of mask of life, to save him. They get bested by the Piraka and manage to escape with aid from the matoran of the island. Jaller, meanwhile on Metru-nui assembles a company that eventually become the Toa Inika. Fast-forward, the Piraka or beaten, and the mask is found, but it "runs away" into the ocean. The Toa go down a large stone passageway that leads underwater and a combonation of the waters and a blast from the mask (crying for help) they are turned into Toa Mahri. After securing the mask, they break the stone cord connecting Yova-nui to the ocean floor, Matoro learns Mata-nui has died, but he makes a last effort to save him, he smims in front of the decending Voya-nui and lands in the universe core (planet core) and puts on the mask so it can have his energy to bring Mata-nui back. The Toa Nuva, however, have been secretly performing side tasks (to awaken Mata-nui, who's alive, but sleeping) that no one but them can know about, so they leave Metru-nui. They're currently looking for the mask of life in the universe core, they believe it can wake him up. Splitting up into two teams, they scour the swamps below and help the Matoran in Karda-nui. What they don't know, is that the mask of life has made a body for itself. In a severly condensed and volitile nutshell. Also, Pohatu's not yellow, he's orange, since he can't be brown anymore because, apparantly, no one likes brown Toa.
Yellow inika. I would say brown, but there wasn't any. I kind of got the low down everything after metru (except the horridca). That's when I got off track.
Bionicle, anyone? Anyone besides me here like them? They might appeal to Transformers fans, appearing to be robotic creatures. I just built Hydraxon and it is very cool.
There's a tiny following of it on this site- http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=163090 DN
Hells yeah right here. BIOlogical chroNICLE fan. I just finished putting my Toa Mata Onua back together for the first time in seven years. I lost his head but I think the green eyes and dark head of Nuhrii suit him. He's my favorite. Thanks Cat, for merging.
I think there's only like...10 of us at most on the boards. I have always been a fan of lego products. It can't be bad. So...what the hell. Favorite line: Metru Nui (this when the bionicle line gets more articulation) Favorite set: Lhikan & Kikanalo (seriously, you can't go wrong with this set) Favorite mask: Lhikan (it's...very appealing for some reason) Favorite baddies: Bohrok swam (swams!) Favorite goodies: Axonn (over-powering figure with strength; plus axe); Toas of air Welcome to the group?
%10, 000 agreed. Lhikan was the best set. His mask is perfect, as well. My favourite line was easily Toa Mata/Nuva. Classic heroes. Favourite bad guys were Piraka. (Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome characters and figures) Favourite good guys are Toa of Earth, Water and Fire. My favourite kinds of toa, always have the best characters and figures.
