Unfortunately it might still be, but my guess is reviewers weren’t told what themes it’s limited to on purpose. Found this during the Tahu leaks.
Indeed that's the leak I was referring to. It's possible something could've changed since then, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
The amount of love and passion put into this set is crazy, especially for a free GWP. However, I wish they had thrown in a few more pieces to get the masks the correct shapes instead of just rectangles with printing.
Gift with purchase Basically, it's LEGO's way of saying: "hey, you bought a lot of LEGO sets! Like enough that's more than $100! Here's an extra one on the house!"
Huh still not officially revealed... The page is up on LEGO's shop, but has no details. I really want to know if those rumors from people who got the set to review saying it's not limited to themes is true.
Okay got some sets ready to go when it's time for Tahu. I'm playing it safe and just using city and creator as it seems the "anything goes" rumor isn't true.
I don't know how hot of a take this is, but I'm still of the opinion that 2015 Gali is my favorite design for the character overall. The OG Gali set is obviously iconic and Gali Nuva is one of the better Nuva designs IMO, up there with Kopaka Nuva, but the 2015 set takes the best aspects of the latter and refines them so much. The mask is so sleek and streamlined, the color balance is excellent, and the dual-function weapon is just a thing of beauty-- the way the flippers can attach to the trident to make a big staff makes her all kinds of imposing. Honestly I feel like all of the 2015 Toa were excellent sets and the 2016 uniter wave was a massive downgrade on the whole. The reboot may have had a lot going against it, but I really can't fault that initial wave.
Gali really was one of the more thoughtfully designed, both in functionality and aesthetics. Of all the 2015 Masters she was the only one I didn't modify at all. Everyone else got tweaked either proportionally or with colours/design elements.
That warm feeling of nostalgia and happiness when you get something you had and cherised but lost to time. I almost teared up at the sight of this, remembering the times I was a happy 5 year old getting my first Bionicle and the good memories attached to the year of 2006.
For me it was this guy, I was 8 in 08 when I got him. He always seemed more like a villain to me because he's skinny and spiky and black/red. I'd be looking at roughly $100 shipped if I wanted one new and unopened
Crackin' open a cold one with-- well I guess it's more of a hot one, but it's with the boys and that's what matters.
Man, the Manas are rad. Definitely not the most abstract of the Rahi but still impressive. Such a simple yet effective design.
Just got a blast of nostalgia, I had a book of Bionicle creatures as a kid and those things were in it
