Turning the skates vertical kind of makes them look not like skates, don't you think? I mean, on his Nuva body it made sense, they were straight. But they're thick, curved and serated shape doesn't work well vertically. At least horizontal they still look like something he can sled on.

Speaking of Kopaka, I'm just trying out him holding his sheild halves together like Tahu's board. They certainly look more like a sheild, and he holds it a bit better, but I dunno. I like the big double-blades sheild. I always prefer sheilds that can double as slicing weapons themselves.

You know it's funny, I was stuck on how they were integrated into the original Toa Nuva design, I never thought about it like that. I also never thought of them as more sleds, and more as like hockey skates.

All together though, I'm still not a fan of how his tool's second function works though. They kinda feel like an after thought more than anything else.

I dunno if someone came up with this already, but I just found my current prefered sheild setup via tinkering:

Plus, it doesn't have to point knuckle-up, it can point forwards if you want. (but I'm sure you all guessed that)

    Haloid would really like this.

And if you want it perpendicular to the arm, you can just add a 2length axle and another one of those black (or other colored) technic connectors.

You could just attach it perpendicular to the hand, and hold the hand parallel to the ground. I only have it against the arm as a buckler because that's the pose I just happened to already have him in.

What if the thigh pieces on the skull guy allow us to attach old Bionicle armour pieces to them?

The that's cool, but it doesn't appear that way.

They're supposed to be bones, like bone-bones, because they're zombie/skeletons.

I actually really like this. The gray is much cooler and blends in with his white better.

    In my opinion, at least.

Generic Skull Bad Guy looks kinda bleah, bot Protector Ekimu looks neat.

Personally, I prefer keeping Kopaka's shield in the board configuration. I find it helps differentiate Tahu's blades and Kopaka's shield, well at first glance at least so Kopaka looks he's actually holding a shield rather than two of Tahu's swords in white. Now if they tied the bladed shield to a separate gear function, then I'm all for bladed shields.

Much as I am excited to hopefully get my hands on a transparent orange Hau, I hope we get some variations on the other masks in the future too. I was looking at the ad, and saw the dark blue Skull Spider, and thought it would be neat to get one of those in orange in reference to the Fikou spider from the original series.

    Not in my hair, please.

Yeah, some mask colour variants would be sweet.

Fucking with these is fun. I slightly changed Pohatu's right arm, gave him two gears (and as a result gave him Onua's method of a ball socket for friction) gave the little gears to Tahu so his friction setup matches Gali. I dropped Lewa's gearbox down a stud. Takes away the hunchback, but frees up head movement. I dunno, may change it. I also switched his and Gali's blades for more colour continuity for both. I also turned Onua's arms all the way around and attached them "upside down" so they come out of his body more naturally.

I'd rather have red Skull Spiders like in Gali's instruction comics.

However, since it's only in Europe as far as we know, then I'm glad it comes with a generic Skull Spider.

If we ever get mask variants, I'd want a blue Pakari, just saying,

Personally I would prefer remolds over recolors. Would allow for more mocing options.
