I'm sure I remember somebody suggesting an angry teeth gritted expression as one of my alt faces but I can't find the post. Whoever you were, here's a preview of the WIP. Still need to reshape the eyes to fit the new eyeholes but I think I'm happy with the expression.

    upload_2021-9-5_21-6-32.png

Also I'm dumb. I thought there was nothing holding the face in so I added some pegs but it turns out it holds just fine without them, so that'll make it easier to swap faces - just pop out the forehead piece and the face will come off.

This actually belongs here: BIG FIREBIRD BUILD - EX-01 Plus Mocha

I was the one who suggested it. Thanks. it's looking pretty sharp man! Great job! :)  Not sure if it's possible, but was gonna suggest a bit more sneering especially in the nose and eyes. looking legit pissed off, angry and intense. like so:

    Harrison-Gnashing-of-Teeth-6402.jpg

We know bots can definitely emote similar to humans. aka tons of servos in their faces that are capable of making similar expressions. MARVEL did really great in showing that in some of the classic art. (especially with Galvatron and starscream)

    1265408946-galvatron_mad.jpg Screenshot_1.jpg

Don't be afraid to put some detailing in the teeth. show some definition. :)

Again, Snaku. It's looking really good main. great job so far. :)

I think I've improved the sneer a little. Changed the mouth shape a little and made the eyes a little squintier. As for definition in the teeth, I could do it but it wouldn't make much difference. See how big the polygons on her cheeks and especially on her forehead are? This is what it looks like printed:

That polygonal mess looks perfectly smooth printed. And her cheek grooves are barely visible (I increased the depth on them since this print so they'll be more defined). I could add the detail to the teeth but it'd be so small, it'd just come out looking smooth once I printed it.

the render does look better so far. it is looking more marvel-like. I like it a lot there.

I imagine that head being on her in a "leaping while aiming her gun and firing" pose

Thank you but it's actually pretty flawed. There are holes in her forehead piece, her cheek grooves are barely visible and would likely get even more lost under a layer of paint, and some of the edges are a little frayed looking. I probably can't do much about those edges besides sand then down a bit but I've fixed the grooves and I'll just have to print extra parts so I can discard any that have holes (not sure why those happen sometimes).

The cheek grooves? Actually, I didn't notice them as I was taken in by the overall smoothness of her face, which I personally prefer.

Might be worth checking with the store you bought her from, just to be sure. It might be possible they still have junker parts lying around for that purpose. But it's highly unlikely you'll be able to get replacements from the source, considering how small her production run wound up being.

Yeah I had this happen too, much to my annoyance as the hip skirt look is one of my faves for her :(  I've got the nervewracking prospect of repairing the break with a metal pin for extra strength. On the plus side I've been informed that it should be much stronger once I do!

Fingers and some help from a LEGO Brick Separator I think... when researching how to fix ball joints I think some people say about using tweezers but I've not done that.

Maybe somebody could give a link to the Nicee review, where she's sitting on SXS Hot Rod?

Just to let everybody know, I haven't abandoned this project. For a while I was frustrated with the struggle in creating expressions so I considered dropping it but I've started back into it. I'm still not super great with this semi-anime style and I haven't spent nearly as much time working on faces with an overbite (that kind of protruding/angled upward lip thing she's got going is characteristic of an overbite) but I think I've got a few decent expressions.

Neutral (don't think there's been any change since the last time I showed it with the bigger eyes):

    Irritated:

Angry (made some minor tweaks since the last time I showed it):
    upload_2021-12-9_12-38-35.png

The problem I'm running into currently is the neck post. I've got a line on a resin that I think will be sturdy enough but I need to wait until my next paycheck before I can (hopefully) fit it into the budget. I'm also currently in the process of printing parts for another release I'm planning on doing so this should be the next thing I start in on after that.
