Perhaps they might stop using female transformers as a selling point since neither look anything like arcee or windblade. Great for y'all that like these but I sold nicee and canceled this one

Shifting away from slavish TF homages has taken this company to another level aesthetically and creatively. Had they stuck with what they were doing on Nicee I wouldn't have even bought it and thus looks 20x better too. Thank goodness for the change of direction.

I wish these threads would get moved out of the 3p TF section of this forum as well because I think it gives people false expectations of these products by association because people will naturally regard them as loose TF homages when they aren't that at all.

I agree that this should be moved from the third-party transformers section.
But I'm disappointed that they got rid of the Arcee head. Nicee was still going to have the final production head too so the option would've been nice.
I ultimately sold Nicee and Crimson Princess is even more human than Nicee. It's a shame that the WJ raid scared them away from the homages. We now know that third-party products/companies are still alive and well.

There were never any legal troubles.

But the decision came hot on the heels of the Weijiang raid, so they were probably playing cautious.

 

Can BFB survive on original characters?

 

It's all subjective but I'm a robot/mecha collector and I have enough options for "Arcee" at this scale. I was ecstatic to see the head change for Nicee because before that it looked like an Arcee head just slapped on a body that looked nothing like hers for the sake of pandering to TF fans. It legit went from a really odd looking Arcee to must have robo waifu in a snap. It sold like hot cakes and has a good secondary demand so it seems like a good amount of folks had a similar viewpoint as well.

In the end, I just want this company to have an opportunity to strive and be judged based on their own merits vs saddled by expectations from homages that they aren't even trying to make.

 

Nicee's crying now because of the implication she may not be a "real" Transformer or Cybertronian.

I've said repeatedly in the Nicee thread is that that's probably the reason why they were so skittish after the Wei Jiang raid, because they had a significant amount of fully legitimate product on the way as well, and could have jeopardized those contracts getting into any legal snares.
