We've gotten Scarlet Sonic's human name before (Yueyin), and now we have Thunder Light's (Xiaoguang)

 

Ooh thanks for sharing those! Despite the intentional blurriness/vagueness it kind of looks like Black Cat might replace Scarlet Dragon in the combined mode based on the positions of the black colours on that combined mode.

Edit: Read the link, thanks for sharing that too! I really hope we get a toy of the little magic guide thing. Also now wondering if they could do a pack of alternate faces for the various girls in the future?
Also funny how in one of the new pages for the first comic Scarlet is using her hands in alt mode to hold the magic guide thingy  

 

Finally, thanks for the link. As I hoped, it's still madcap hero fun, but actually cohesive.

I realized that you could do this if you wanted, so I gave it a try before disassembling them again. Though I can't completely confirm because I didn't actually pop the ball joint in, it seems like there shouldn't be a problem. You can swivel the part that has her neck hole in it so that it sticks out more, if needed. And Scarlet is still on her back, just hangin out.
Post-disassembly, Thunder gets her head back, but something is still missing...

I recently received them from ShowZ and I got a chance to play with them over the weekend.

My initial thoughts were.... disappointment. I read a lot of great things about the girls and was really looking forward to them. I started with the G1 combiner piece and the arms/treads kept falling off when I was trying to transform it between dino and tank mode. Some of the plastic felt like it would break if I put in too much force.

Then I opened the rest of them up in the order of 01 to 04. My thoughts drastically changed as I played with them. The posability felt awkward at first for me, but then once I understood how to work it, they are amazing! Transformation is simple and vehicle modes are OK, but the bot/figure mode is great. My favourite would be the twins. Once I made use of the third leg, I didn't have any issues with them falling over.

I haven't tried out combined mode yet, but hoping to mess with them again this weekend.

I kind of thought "Big Firebird" was also their Combiner name.

 

I mean, it does work but Big Firebird is the manufacturer (like Hasbro or Takara for Transformers) and used for their other product lines including the Nicee figure and that anime mech thing they did (I forget it's name)

Thunder Light's debut is fittingly awesome! Black Lion's first appearance is surprisingly intense.

From the untranslated, I thought she was freaking out at the end because her phone got broken by her own lightning, but that wouldn't make sense given how they transform. The translation is a little hard to understand, but I'm thinking she's upset by the lack of cool battle pictures, because the fight was over before it began. She was just too cool.
Alternatively, maybe there was some coverup, and all the pictures were removed? That would follow more of a mahou shoujo track, where all the supernatural stuff is kept hidden from the public, rather than just having secret identities for the heroes and villains

 

To me that last page reads like how sometimes in Manga they have minicomics at the end of a volume which leans on/breaks the fourth wall. In this case it could be interpreted as a metaphor for the readers' frustration that this 'issue' ends on that ominous appearance... while also working in universe as Thunder Light complaining about a lack of photos.
Also is this the first time someone has called her Scarlet Sonic or am I forgetting something?
