Admittedly, I figured it was a detail from the movie I may've not noticed.

Wow...love this post. I'm planning to get the Hasbro version and do some custom work with decals and paints since this Weijiang toy is too big for my display.

I will take your job as a baseline.... oh.. and thanks for that website with the decals for the Pave Low and other military hardware.

You are welcome! Curious to see your work on him to!
I hope you find the info worthy and if you have more questions, let me know!

For now I will pretend that is the case, but I might just redo that decal in the future...

Glad to see someone tackle the SS Blackout, or a KO of him. I've been working on mine for almost a year now and still haven't finished him because I can't find any reference pics of him in robot mode that are anything better than a humanoid shape with various shades of grey (The stock images). So now I'll have a custom whose ideas I can steal- I mean take inspiration from for mine

So.. all I need is some of the decals but I am liking how he is turning out.
I added the details in gold, silver, steel, bronze and aluminium and this is the result!
    What do you guys think?

Nice, but a bit too clean for my taste. This really should be getting some worn and greased or oiled up attention that a chopper of its caliber deserves.

    Hello Erwinsims,
I just started my Blackout today - had to wait about two weeks for the delivery of the Testers Easy Lift Off (ELO) to get the painted decals off. It was no easy task, but done now. I also received the decals from the person you mentioned in Hong Kong. Easy transaction and shipped to the U.S. in about 7 days - Thanks for the reference info! I've been following your posts and feel that I have a good way forward for this Transformer project. For those of you that are following the Erwinsims modifications, I will add that using the Testers ELO and Magic Eraser saved a lot of time. Soak the area with the ELO and place a piece of toilet paper over the area, then soak the paper again and leave it for about ten minutes - begin to remove with a cotton swab, or use the Magic eraser (or both) to finish removing the paint. You will leave some residue from the Eraser, but it is easily cleaned by soaking the area in ELO, and wiping it with a clean paper towel. I would also recommend cleaning the area throughly with clean water before applying the decals, then masking off parts of the model that are to remain with a metallic finish (engines and rear rotor) and any clear parts (windows), before a dull coat and weathering. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for the great posts! Your Blackout is looking AWESOME!
