Definitely sounds interesting. Not sure I like the idea of Alfred wielding a gun, but I'll give the show a chance. Could end-up just being a form of self-defense used on rare occasions. I do like the idea of them exploring the obscure villains. Joker, Two-Face, and Penguin are great villains, but can get old a bit fast. Would be great if they brought back Egghead. Especially if they could find someone that could pull of a convincing Vincent Price impersonation.
Katana eh? I know the name, should be interesting to see where they go with her. Though I'd have preferred if Cassandra Cain was the one to get used. Alfred with a gun - sounds like Norman from Big O. Given Alfred's special forces past, it's not completely unrealistic - hopefully his backstory can be fleshed out to make the most of this. Maybe get Knight and Squire into the picture for an episode or two.
Interesting tidbit in that link is the news that the "creator behind My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic," presumably Lauren Faust, is "working on a series of animated shorts teaming Wonder Girl, Batgirl, Supergirl called Super Best Friends Forever." Time for the Bronies to cross over to female superhero sidekicks?

Oh great because the Batman/Katana/Outsiders period was a watershed for the Batman mythos and really had a massive impact on the character's hiaaaaaahhahahahahahahahahahahaha
What the hell is wrong with the Batman's forehead on that image? Did an anvil comically fell on his head seconds earlier?
Gun Toting Alfred. As if Michael Caine's Alfred wasn't badass enough..... Let see where this will go.....
Actually Alfred protects the sewer entrance to the cave with a rifle as seen in the comics. The first arc in Superman/Batman.
Not impressed at all so far with Batman, although seeing Katana might be interesting. On the other hand, REALLY interested in those DC girls shorts.
how awesome it sounds to have a new batman series is; this is really what has me "wowed" same team that does my little ponies! I'm in! when they first said female sidekick, i was hoping for Cassandra Cain!!! but Katana could be cool too!
yea, i think that too, but it's still 2 years away, and it is only the first images. so i assume it will get better in two years!
Two things bother me right of the bat...1. The very modern generic CG look to everything, and 2. Batman's head...looks more cat-like. Honestly, the show's writing will have to be absolutely spectacular for me to get past the horribly bland look. I would rather they continued BatB, or just straight-up re-aired TAS and made a new toy-line to go with it.
I'm a little dismayed with the WB's sudden jump to CG. They have a long history of beatiful cell animated shows. I don't want to see that go away. Plus it will have to be very different we haven't yet had a Batman series to rival Batman the Animated series. I'd like to see modern take with Tim or Damien with a darker tone and similar to young justice or the Red hood DVD.
