Saw the movie recently, and liked the idea that Drift can transform to a helicopter. I know there's going to be a Voyager mold, but looking at the Tomahawk mold, that could have been a better mold for Drift, if you are going to redeco an older mold for Drift. What do y'all think?

that's what i was thinking too dude! same size as the car drift, tomahawk's propellors can angle up like drift's sword things and it transforms like car drift does (vehicle front as chest, mainly, lol). plus it has that sword gang molded with it and the helicopter mode's more scifi then skyhammer's.

While I don't agree that the Tomahawk mold would have been a better choice, I will say that Skyhammer doesn't really capture Drift's helicopter mode, either. I can't say what pre-existing mold would really do the job best, since he has a rear-facing intake rotor on the back rather than a traditional side-mounted one, and his overall frame is built small and speedy. Personally, I believe the best bet would have been a new mold, especially since his robot mode didn't alter in the time between Bugatti and helicopter.

I'm surprised that they didn't do a brand new mold for helicopter Drift epspecially if this plays an important part in the movie.

No I think it even got mentioned when they showed the toy.

I've never had it but at least it wasn't that small helicopter mold can't remember the name.

So, okay, you knew about the helicopter toy that Drift got and you never expected it would actually be in the film? What the fuck?

Eh Tomohawk deluxe with minor mod would be more suitable imo.

I am fully expecting someone to repaint Springer as Drift eventually. I was surprised he was a triple changer.

Trust me, it doesn't matter. They don't even address that he can triple change at all, he just does it twice to justify the existence of the voyager toy. I'm sure quite a few in the audience were thinking "wait... I thought he was a car... where the fuck did that helicopter come from?!?"

Indeed. It'd be interesing to see if someone tries to furthermore reshell that so that the car mode resembles a Bugatti.

    Well... yes... and no...

Tomahawk's mold was retooled for GDO Springer... which came out the year before the Voyager Generations figure came out.

I like the Skyhammer mold as Drift, even though it's kind of a cheap way out of a new mold or a triple-changer. I'll end up buying it.
