I'd be curious to know if this is truly a KO or if the MFT Designer just is doing something else with the design.

What’s that trailer all about? Was that an upgrade kit?

There’s something cosmically right about a MechFansToys toy being knocked-off and over-sized.

Curious to know the same and what mods were done. The trailer is new and thought this was a FT down scaled for a second with the upgrade added in

Looks like a new head, hands, and rifle. The size on this kind of confuses me as the MFT version could already be considered Legends +. Not sure what this would fit with.

They always resize to something pointless. Either get it to 10.5+ cm to fit with normal legends, or go up to 18cm for voyager class. Otherwise, zero interest.

Yah that’s what I saw, it’s an upgrade with some guns that go in there iirc?
If it looks okay with MS this could definitely be a buy, realllly wish he had the option of different hand swap outs :(

There looks to be new hands that aren’t built in with the rest of the arms like the original was. I’d wait and see till we get more photos but there’s a chance he’ll have swappable hands!

i didn't bother with getting the other two follow up triple changers but i loved the original MFT enough to grab two versions. :p

so i'll watch this thread and see what the progress is like and if there are any significant improvements to make me want to jump on this.

The designer for this toy was Mechanic Studio, who is now selling his designs via Dr. Wu. If this was a Mechanic reprint his logo (a guy holding a wrench and wearing a Bumblebee helmet) would be pretty visible.

I'd say replace "Designer" with "Deserters".

DrCalligari's not far off. People here crucified me as a conspiracy theorist when I compared Pangu toys doctor figure to MFT huge dragon doctor and said either Pangu acquired the file, KO'd it or ppl that had jumped ship when MFT dissolved last year formed Pangu or are working with them.

This release makes me think even more that those who left MFT took some designs and are operating under other names. Pangu first release, omega, skipped 01 and was called PT-02. Then this company with an MFT release, their first release, is BT-02? Speculation of course, but based on things I see that would make sense.

I like new head and hands on this ko, but the size is weird, and the original's height works fine for me with the other 2 triple changers.

I notice some slight improvements, for example, there is a gap between the hipskirt and the front piece in space shuttle mode on MFT, but is not present here.

I measured my MFT MS-20 at 12.3cm, so if this is 13cm, it's not reusing that mold.

It seems every Legends player want to create their own scale. This limits their appeal, at least to me. First, I don't see them committing to a line-up, it has always been here-and-there. Second, they don't go well (in size) with the two big players (NewAge and Magic Square).

I feel MFT "failed" because of this too. Their S1 and S2 lineup is too limited.

I agree with you that rumours point to Pangu having purchased DX9's Omega file. Although the recently announced MS upscaled Prime makes me doubt...

But in order to be a deserter you have to be part of something before. Mechanic Studio never were MFT's designers, it was a partnership. Mechanic designed some toys that MFT simply produced. They designed toys before MFT (the first edition of Hearts of Steel Bumblebee being an example), and after (partnership with Dr. Wu). You can always find their logo on their toys to distinguish them from the rest of the toys from the producers.
