Here a thread I kept meaning to make for the past few months but here a question for you and that would be for the 2010s what do you think was the best year for Transformers. You can base this off your own personal preference or in terms of just overall successful for the brand. I will be going off my own personal preference.

For me I think I have to go with 2012 just because although this will be an unpopular opinion I really enjoyed Transformers Prime Season 2. I know a lot of people had problems with Prime that season but I had a lot of fun watching it at the time and the Prime toys were finally hitting shelves and again despite some of the toys flaws I still had a lot of fun collecting them. It was just a really fun year Transformers wise for me. I would not say there was a lot more to it then that for me but it just hits a certain simple fun for me.

Hard for me to say. I liked the overall decade for the franchise in general.

    I'd might go for 2011 though. :D

Just on a personal hunch, I would say 2012.

For me personally, 2018: Bumblebee, the start of Studio Series, a Generations Beast Wars figure (a rarity, nowadays), Generations Dinobots and Terrorcons, Walmart Vintage G1, MP Dinobot, and the beginning of Siege.

    Hmm.

There weren't many cartoons I like this decade, which is okay, because I'm not a kid, and the cartoons should be tailored more to kids anyway.

I liked many of the Generations and Studio Series lines, but because Generations has been spread out over the decade, I don't know if there's a single year that sticks out more than others.

Out of the movies, I really liked DotM and AoE, and because AoE was my personal favorite of the films, I would say 2014 would be my favorite year, because that was also the 30th anniversary of the brand. Even the movie toy line that year had some underrated figures.

    2014 it is!

2018 was a great year too mostly for the toys and Bumblebee. Although I enjoyed season 1 of Cyberverse if it was season 2 that year instead I think that be enough for the year to win. But 2018 was a great Transformers year.

For me 2010 was the best year for Transformers since I became a fan in 2006. At least for me, on a personal level. WFC was released, the movies were between two big hits, we were gearing up for movie 3, the Hunt for the Decepticons toys ruled (IMO those are still possibly the best TF figures ever), Generations still felt fresh, and the shelves were well-stocked. I feel like that might have been the last time stores (at least near me) stocked an abundance of TF toys. I noticed significantly less from DOTM onward.

2010 really rejuvenated my interest in Transformers. I wasn't able to get into the Animated stuff in 2008/'09, and my interest was drifting to other things during late 2009/early 2010. Without the Transformers stuff that came out in 2010, I could easily see myself having drifted away from the franchise permanently. 2010 helped ensure that Transformers stayed a part of my set of interests throughout my teenage years.

2011. It was the year of Dark of the Moon, my all time favorite movie. It had a great toy line and I was spending the most time customizing back then.

There's no perfect year. I'd say 2019. If I recall correctly, I had difficulty catching Bumblebee over the Christmas period of 2018, but I definitely caught a second and possibly 3rd screening in January. That was a definite highlight, being the first Transformers movie I didn't have substantial reservations about.

The Studio series is good, particularly 1980s Optimus, but deluxe Bumblebee is a major letdown. The Siege line is also good, although the 2020 line has already overshadowed it.

2010/2011 was also a good time.

Dark of the Moon was one of the better Bay movies, although the toyline felt like a step back. Most of those figures needed to be redone.

The period inbetween saw a lot of stuff I didn't care for, but there's always been a few highpoints here and there. Combiner wars felt dragged out, and the Wahlberg movies are not something many people care to remember.

2016 or 2017 for the best of Combiner Wars and the beginning of Titans Return. The greatest mainline TF toys in decades, imo. I voted 2016. That year also published the end of Transformers vs. GI Joe, which I think is the best TF media since Animated ended. But it's really the CW and TR toylines that push it over the top.

And speaking of Animated, that would be my runner up choice. Maybe 2008 or 2009, for the third season of Animated, the last time we've had a great new TF cartoon on the air. That toyline was freaking phenomenal as well. How they managed to translate those character designs in that art style into physical form is a marvel of ingenuity and engineering.

I picked 2019 due largely to Siege, the continuation of Studio Series and some great new MP reveals/releases.

2018-2019. Movie fans got Studio Series and the Bumblebee movie, G1 fans got Siege, Earthrise, and a Netflix cartoon on the way, and the kids got Cyberverse.

2016 because head masters. Titans Return brought me back to mainline collecting. Revisiting that portion of G1 is just what I had wanted for years. Now my selection of what to get from future lines is dependant on what goes with TR and the rest of Prime Wars.

I would say the best years for transformers were 2007-2014 because they were two great transformers shows, the movies weren’t as bad as ( aoe and TLK), the toy-lines were great, the games were great, and the comics were great too, then from 2015-2017 it went down hill pretty fast the cartoons were bad, the toys were awful ( with a few exceptions)the movie was god awful the comics were also bad they were some good stuff like devastation and MMTE but that’s it, but then in 2018 they started get back up the bumblebee movie was great, cyberverse was great, the toylines were great so hopefully from 2020 onwards they can go back to the great years of transformers and hopefully the WFC trilogy would be the greatest show to come out of transformers, so basically 2007-2014 and 2018- were the brands best years

Titans Return was my favorite toyline from the decade, but 2016-2017 were far from the best years in terms of media. Though admittedly I've paid almost no attention at all to Transformers cartoons since Animated ended, and I couldn't say when I last read any of the comics regularly.

I will say although 2016-2017 sucked in terms of media Titans Return is one of the highlights for toys this decade. Buying Fortress Maximus was such an exciting moment for my nerdself. To finally see this character on shelves in stores and having the money to buy him was something my 11 year old self could only dream of.

2015 and 2018 were the highlights for me due to the Devastation video game and the Bumblebee movie.
