Would someone mind advising me as to the best way to separate a secure ball joint from the joint housing?

I'm trying to remove one of Thundertron's legs and unaided coaxing won't do the trick, because the ball is secured inside the housing by a one-way tab.

I'm thinking that a hair dryer, or boiling water might be the best options, but I'm trying to avoid warping of plastic and accidental paint removal.

With all the modding experts here, I'm guessing someone knows the best way to go about this. Any thoughts?

Is it attached via pin? I don't have TT on me at the moment and haven't really tinkered with the figure too much.

Ball joints don't have pins. :p

In any case, I managed to get the legs off just fine. I heated up the joint with a hair dryer just enough to make the plastic a little flexible, but not hot enough to warp the plastic. They popped right off with very little effort.

Actually, they can sometimes be attached to a pin.
