Mass Effect has some excellent tracks. As did Metal Gear Solid V.

Super Meat Boy, Undertale, Deltarune, Ori and the blind forest, Shantae, Hollow Knight, Bionicle Heroes, Dragon ball Z Budokai trilogy (before the HD remakes), Halo, Legend of Zelda, and most likely tons more than I can remember.

That song is so delightfully cheesy. Completely unlike anything else you hear in the whole SC series.
A few years ago I happened upon a "misheard lyrics" video of this song, which I found HILARIOUS because the singer's thick Japanese accent actually does make some of the English lyrics almost indecipherable. Now I can't even listen to this song without hearing these "misheard" lyrics :D

And while we're talking about PS1 opening songs...
"If You Still Believe" from the Legend of Dragoon. Great song, especially considering at that time, it still wasn't standard practice for RPGs to have a studio-quality theme song (IIRC, FFVIII started the trend with "Eyes On Me", and that game only came out a few months before Legend of Dragoon).

The J-Idol Pop inspired FFX2 soundtrack is still a fave of mine. "What Can I Do For You?" and "1000 Words" are particularly stunning. I dare anyone to not be moved by the latter song in context with the storyline.

How the hell did I forget the magnificence that is Okami's soundtrack? There is not a single bad or even boring tune in that game.

FFX2 gets a bad rap, but I enjoyed it. The soundtrack is a guilty pleasure of mine.
